Simon Moser expects to get a raise from Nashville in order to re-sign.

Moser is still willing to accept a two-way contract by the sounds of things, but he wants the AHL level of his deal to pay him more than the $70,000 he got last season. Moser, who made Switzerland's Olympic team in 2014, could command more in his home country, which is likely why he wants a raise in order to stick around. He's a restricted free agent though, so if the Predators won't accommodate him, then his only other options are an offer sheet - which is unlikely - or a return to Europe. He had a goal and two points in six games with Nashville last season.

He'll begin the 2013-14 season the AHL, but he can return to Switzerland if he is still with Milwaukee as of Dec. 15. "He's got a very, very mature game, which fits the style of North America," coach Barry Trotz said. "That's what sort of endeared me to Simon when I watched him over in Europe. He scored all of his goals around the net." Moser earned a pro deal with Nashville out of training camp.

The Nashville Predators reportedly signed Simon Moser to a one-year, two-way contract for $550K.

The Predators are taking a quantity-over-quality approach with their forwards, it seems. With a slate of injuries, it makes sense to sign Moser, especially since they can easily get rid of him if needed. Of course, he could make a longer impression, too.

Simon Moser is still vying for a roster spot with Nashville.

He is attending camp on a professional tryout agreement after playing five straight seasons with Langnau of the Swiss League. "When I step on the ice, I give 100 percent, and in the end we'll see if it adds up or not," said Moser, who scored in the Predators 2-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday night. "I can only do my part, and the rest is the organization." If he doesn't get an NHL spot then he'll return to Switzerland to play for Bern.
