Linus Ullmark will report to AHL Rochester.
Ullmark was summoned on Monday and got his first NHL start on the season on Thursday. He made the most of that opportunity by turning aside 44 of 45 shots in a 3-1 win over Columbus. The Sabres have begun their bye week so there isn't much point in keeping Ullmark on the roster in the short-term, but he might be recalled after Buffalo's break is over. Jan 12 - 1:37 PM

Linus Ullmark turned aside 44 of 45 shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Ullmark kept the Jackets off the board for most of the game, but Columbus' Artemi Panarin picked up a power play goal with under seven minutes remaining. The Sabres netminder looked solid in his first game of the season. With the team now on their bye week, Ullmark will likely head back to the minors to get some more action. Even though he had a solid outing tonight, he won't carry much fantasy value going forward. Tonight's victory put an end to Buffalo's five-game losing streak.

Linus Ullmark will start Thursday night against Columbus.

Ullmark has played well in the AHL this season and coach Phil Housley wants to give him a look. "We feel that he's earned the start up here," said the Sabres bench boss. "He's had a terrific season down in Rochester being an AHL All-Star and we're looking for a spark."

Linus Ullmark has been summoned from the minors.

Ullmark's recall comes after Robin Lehner suffered an injury scare over the weekend. Lehner appeared to be OK after he took a shot to the side of the neck in Sunday's 4-1 loss to Philadelphia, but perhaps there have been some lingering effects. Ullmark has been superb in the AHL this season, with a 17-5-1 record, a 2.27 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 26 matches.

Linus Ullmark has been reassigned to the minors.

Ullmark being summoned raised questions about Robin Lehner's health given that he took Thursday's practice off for "maintenance." Based on this move though, it seems like Lehner is fine.

Linus Ullmark has been called up by Buffalo.

Ullmark is practicing with the team on Thursday and Robin Lehner isn't on the ice. That's not a good sign for Lehner and it could open the door for Ullmark to see some NHL action on Friday

Linus Ullmark has been sent to AHL Rochester.

That's to be expected as Robin Lehner and Chad Johnson are occupying the team's starting and backup goaltending spots. Ullmark posted a 2.87 GAA and .909 save percentage in 55 AHL contests in 2016-17. It's likely that he'll be the one that gets summoned in the event of a goalie injury.

With the signing of free agent Chad Johnson, Linus Ullmark is slated to start the 2017-18 season in Rochester of the AHL.

The Sabres are still high on Ullmark but GM Jason Botterill said Saturday that the team is happy with the tandem of Robin Lehner and Johnson in Buffalo next season. "We’ve always viewed Ullmark as a very importance piece of our organization moving forward," Botterill said. "He’s a goalie that has taken big strides in his game the last 12 months or so here. He’s a guy that I’m getting more familiar with. "I think he could handle the backup role in the National Hockey League this upcoming year, but it’s also as a young goalie, I’m a big believer that he needs to be playing. I think with the scenario of having Robin and Chad, and Ullmark in the three hole, it’s a real strength of our organization. If there is injuries along the way, we’re going to be well-prepared." Unless you have a deppe pool with a reserve list, it may be time to cut Ullmark loose.

The Sabres are hoping that Linus Ullmark is not selected in the expansion draft by the Vegas Golden Knights.

The 23-year-old goaltender is coming off a very strong season with the Rochester Amerks leading the AHL in appearances (55), minutes played (3,201) and shots faced (1,678). Ullmark was also voted as the Amerks' MVP. The Sabres, who will expose Ullmark to the draft, are hoping he will slip by and start the 2017-18 campaign as the backup to starter Robin Lehner. The expansion draft should make for interesting viewing.

Linus Ullmark has been sent to the minors.

Ullmark served as Robin Lehner's backup on Wednesday. This demotion suggests that Anders Nilsson is good to play going forward, but we don't have confirmation of that.
