Head coach Patrick Roy didn't want to mention the details of Everberg's situation, but admitted that he will be re-evaluated on Sunday.

Dennis Everberg scored a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars.

Everberg picked up the primary assist on Alex Tanguay's second period goal and he also added a goal in the final minute of the game. The 23-year-old now has two goals and six points in 31 games this season. His fantasy upside is still non-existent.

"He's a big body, and when he plays physical and is finishing his checks, he's really effective out there," McLeod said. "He can hold the puck down low and make good plays, and he's got a bright future ahead of him." Everberg has been playing on the third line with McLeod and John Mitchell or Max Talbot at center. He has one goal and three assists in 29 games this season with Colorado.

Colorado got John Michell back from injury on Thursday and needed to make room for another goaltender callup (Sami Aittokallio), so Everberg was assigned to AHL Lake Erie. Everberg made Colorado's roster out of training camp. He didn't have a point in five games and he averaged 10:02 of ice time.

Coach Patrick Roy likes what he's seen from Dennis Everberg early into the 2014-15 campaign.

"He's a player that has a great future with us," Roy said. "I think he does a really good job. He had a few good chances (against Toronto on Tuesday), using his speed and size. I just think he needs some confidence around the net." Everberg has eight shots and no points in four games with the Avalanche. He cracked Colorado's roster out of training camp because of injuries to John Mitchell and Patrick Bordeleau.
