He opened the scoring just 2:18 into the contest, but the Avalanche lost to Anaheim by a score of 3-2. Everberg wasn't able to pick up a point in his previous seven appearances with Colorado.

Dennis Everberg has been returned to the minors.

Colorado got John Michell back from injury on Thursday and needed to make room for another goaltender callup (Sami Aittokallio), so Everberg was assigned to AHL Lake Erie. Everberg made Colorado's roster out of training camp. He didn't have a point in five games and he averaged 10:02 of ice time.

Coach Patrick Roy likes what he's seen from Dennis Everberg early into the 2014-15 campaign.

"He's a player that has a great future with us," Roy said. "I think he does a really good job. He had a few good chances (against Toronto on Tuesday), using his speed and size. I just think he needs some confidence around the net." Everberg has eight shots and no points in four games with the Avalanche. He cracked Colorado's roster out of training camp because of injuries to John Mitchell and Patrick Bordeleau.

Dennis Everberg remains with the Colorado Avalanche and he might be line for a roster spot at the beginning of the season.

Colorado has three players on the roster (John Mitchell, Jesse Winchester and Patrick Bordeleau) who will probably start the year on injured reserve. Everberg skated on the club's fourth line at practice on Monday alongside Marc-Andre Cliche and Cody McLeod.
