Iiro Pakarinen has one goal and no assists in 11 games this season.
Pakarinen has logged just 9:06 minutes per game this season. He's capable of doing more offensively than he has thus far, but as long as his playing time is this limited, he's not worth keeping on your fantasy hockey radar unless you're in a particularly deep league. Nov 20 - 10:59 AM

Iiro Pakarinen scored a goal in Edmonton's 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night.

Iiro Pakarainen missed out on cracking the Oilers lineup out of training camp due to a shoulder injury.

Pakarainen suffered the injury in camp and it forced him to miss three weeks. The Oilers sent him to the minors at the end of training camp and he scored once with a couple of helpers in four games before his recall. "I’m an all-around player, I think I can play on all four lines," Pakarinen said. "If they need me on the first or second line, I think I can be there. If they want me to play on the fourth line, then I can play simple and harder and grind it a little bit more. That’s what I think is good about my game." He'll replace Matt Hendricks in the Edmonton lineup. Don't expect a lot early on from the Finn as he had only a goal and three points in 17 NHL games.

Iiro Pakarinen has been summoned by the Oilers and will play in Wednesday's contest against the Penguins.

With both Taylor Hall and Benoit Pouliot going down with injuries in Monday's game versus the Sharks, forward Iiro Pakarinen has been recalled from Oklahhoma City of the American Hockey League. He will take Hall's spot on the Oilers' top line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle. Pakarinen hasn't played with the NHL club since November 13th but will get a quick spot start with Hall and Pouliot unable to play.

Iiro Pakarinen has five goals and eight points in six AHL games thus far.

The Oilers sent him to the minors after an impressive training camp and he has flourished offensively in Oklahoma City. The talented Finn was selected in the seventh round by Florida in 2011 and inked a two-year deal with the Oilers in June. He is likely to be a bottom-six forward once he makes it in the NHL as he is also good defensively, but his scoring spree in the AHL is some reason for hope that he can also score at the NHL level.
