Charlie McAvoy led Boston with 26:49 of ice time in Game 5 against Tampa Bay.

McAvoy stepped up with Torey Krug out of the lineup due to an ankle injury. He set up Boston's only goal by David Krejci on the power play in a 3-1 loss to the Lightning. The defeat ended Boston's season, but McAvoy played well with two shots, three hits and four blocks in the contest.
May 7 - 9:58 AM

Charlie McAvoy is the likeliest candidate for more power-play time with Torey Krug out of action due to an ankle injury.

McAvoy should see time on the top power-play unit in Game 5 versus Tampa Bay on Sunday afternoon. Matt Grzelcyk or Zdeno Chara could see time on the Bruins' second combination with the man advantage.
May 6 - 12:46 PM

Charlie McAvoy scored a goal in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

McAvoy's first career playoff goal tied the game at 1-1 at the 18:30 mark of the opening period. Unfortunately for the Bruins, the Lightning managed to score the next two goals. McAvoy finished the night with one shot on goal, three hits and three blocked shots in 23:42 of ice time. After picking up just one assist in Boston's seven-game series against Toronto in the first round, he already has three points in the first two games of the second round. This best-of-seven series is now tied at 1-1.
Apr 30 - 10:01 PM

Charlie McAvoy logged nearly 27 minutes of ice time in Game 7 against Toronto.

However, he did have some struggles defensively in the opening round of the playoffs and contributed just one assist in seven games. "I think he's doing fine," said Bruins GM Don Sweeney. "He's going to continue to grow and learn and be exposed to situations. Teams are now coaching against Charlie. He has to continue to grow from that, learn from it. He's unfazed, which is a tremendous quality in a young player. So, we're excited about where Charlie is and more importantly where he can get to."

Boston bench boss Bruce Cassidy hopes to have Charlie McAvoy (knee) on the ice for Thursday's morning skate.

There's a possibility he could be back in the lineup as early as Thursday, but that's unclear at this time. McAvoy has been sidelined since Mar. 3 due to a sprained MCL.

McAvoy has already missed 10 games because of a sprained MCL. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated soon after he was injured earlier this month and then a clearer picture of his status could arrive.
Mar 25 - 12:42 PM

Charlie McAvoy (knee) is expected to start skating again soon.

McAvoy has been out of the lineup since Mar. 6. There's a chance he could hop back on the ice as early as Saturday, but he's still expected to be out a little while longer.
Mar 24 - 11:18 AM

Charlie McAvoy has a sprained left MCL and he will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

This is a big blow to the Bruins with the playoffs just around the corner. McAvoy was injured in the first period against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. He didn't practice on Monday and was reportedly seen wearing a brace.
Mar 6 - 10:40 AM

Charlie McAvoy (lower body) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Detroit.

"Nothing new to report, he'll be evaluated this afternoon," coach Bruce Cassidy said Monday. "Will not play tomorrow." McAvoy was injured Saturday against Montreal on his first shift. He didn't practice on Monday.
Mar 5 - 1:15 PM

The Boston Bruins probably won't have an update on Charlie McAvoy (lower body) until Monday.

McAvoy left Saturday's game due to the injury and Sunday is a scheduled day off for the Bruins. Coach Bruce Cassidy didn't have much information about McAvoy's injury after the game as he wasn't sure yet exactly how he happened. He's just hoping it's not serious and it's safe to say that he's not alone there.
