Todd Bertuzzi has left the Binghamton Senators.
The veteran forward has to get his knee examined and it appears as though his professional tryout with Ottawa's AHL club is over. Assistant GM Pierre Dorion said the door is being kept open if Bertuzzi is able to return. Tue, Jan 20, 2015 11:13:00 AM

The Ottawa Senators have been impressed with Todd Bertuzzi's play in the AHL.

Bertuzzi signed a professional tryout with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. The 39-year-old had no points in a 5-0 Binghamton win, but the Sens' brass thought he looked good. "He had two or three decent scoring chances, his conditioning looked good. He played pretty well," said assistant GM Randy Lee. It's still unclear if the Senators will eventually sign Bertuzzi. His biggest obstacle is getting his speed and skating up to NHL standards.

Todd Bertuzzi has signed a professional tryout agreement with the AHL Binghamton Senators.

Binghamton is affiliated with the Ottawa Senators. Bertuzzi, 39, might be able to work his way back into the NHL after missing the first half of the season, but we don't think he'll have any fantasy value.

Todd Bertuzzi has inquired to the Ottawa Senators about the possibility of him signing an AHL tryout agreement.

Bertuzzi has been an unrestricted free agent for the first half of the 2014-15 campaign. At this stage of his career, we have doubts about his comeback attempt and even if he secures a spot on an NHL roster, we don't think he would be worth owning in standard leagues.

Todd Bertuzzi's agent Pat Morris notes that his client is in good shape and no longer needs to deal with lawsuit worries, so he's hoping to continue his NHL career.

It might be tough to find many suitors. Bertuzzi's point production (nine goals, 16 points in 59 games) was lacking and he wasn't the sort of possession-driver who can make a difference defensively even if he's not scoring. Fantasy owners should note that he isn't quite the PIM generator he once was, either, although he still generates some.

Todd Bertuzzi spoke a little to the Detroit Free Press a day after reaching a settlement in his long-standing court case with Steve Moore.

"I have never spoken about this case," Bertuzzi said Wednesday. "I won't speak of it now. To all my fans, to all the teams and teammates I have played with and to all my friends, thank you. Thank you." Moore's career ended after he was attacked by Bertuzzi in game back on March 8, 2004. Bertuzzi is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Todd Bertuzzi and Steve Moore have reached a settlement out of court, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange.

We don't have details yet, but the Moore-Bertuzzi litigation is finally over after 10 years. Moore's career was ended by Bertuzzi in an on-ice incident back in March 2004 and he was seeking $68 million in damages from Bertuzzi and the Vancouver Canucks. Bertuzzi is currently an unrestricted free agent after he recorded 16 points in 59 games with the Red Wings last season.

Legal representatives for Todd Bertuzzi and Steve Moore are discussing a negotiated (out of court) settlement, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

The discussions are believed to be close, but no legal agreement is currently in place. McKenzie reports that "a negotiated settlement to avert a trial is a possibility." Bertuzzi and Moore have a civil trial scheduled for Sept. 8.

Todd Bertuzzi probably won't be back with the Red Wings next season.

He would like to be back in Detroit, but there doesn't appear to be any room for him on the roster. Bertuzzi skated in 59 games this past season, but he only missed eight contests due to injury.

Pending UFA Todd Bertuzzi would prefer to continue playing in Detroit, but he isn't sure if he'll be back next season.

He recorded just nine goals and 16 points in 59 games this season. "I feel like I got off to a good start, then we had a tough month when we weren't scoring, then I got parked for a month and then we went on break," Bertuzzi said. "I was disappointed not to get into the mix of the playoffs. I still feel like I can play, and I'd love to come back, but I don't know if there's room."

Todd Bertuzzi will suit up in Game 4 Thursday night.

He is slated to start on a line with Riley Sheahan and Tomas Tatar. Bertuzzi was a healthy scratch for the first three games of the series. He will replace Tomas Jurco.

Todd Bertuzzi didn't play Sunday because of the flu.

Just an FYI, as he isn't worth owning in fantasy leagues anymore. Bertuzzi has nine goals and 16 points in 54 games this season.

Todd Bertuzzi returned to action on Tuesday March 18.

He missed Sunday's game with a lower-body ailment, but logged 15:12 of ice time against Toronto in his return. He registered three shots on goal, but failed to pick up a point for a fourth straight appearance.

Todd Bertuzzi (lower body) skated with the Red Wings on Tuesday.

Bertuzzi remains questionable for Tuesday's game against Toronto. If he can't play then Landon Ferraro will make his NHL debut.
