Shane Doan does not have any regrets as to his re-signing with the Phoenix Coyotes last off-season.
Doan waited until the day before the lockout before re-signing with Phoenix. He waited so long because of the uncertainty as to whether or not Greg Jamison would buy the team as he wanted to remain in Phoenix if he could. Well Jamison did not purchase the club and it is still unknown if the Coyotes will remain in the desert. May 12 - 10:14 AM

Shane Doan played the last two weeks of the season with a back injury, according to GM Don Maloney.

Doan's 13 goals and 27 points in 48 games was pretty much on pace with the 22 goals and 50 points he registered in 79 games the season before. However, those numbers might've been better if not for the fact that he had just three assists over the last 10 games of the season, while he apparently played through a bad back. Doan's unlikely to ever reach the 70-point plateau again but he is a solid, reliable depth piece for fantasy owners year in and year out.

Shane Doan and the Phoenix Coyotes didn't roll over despite being mathematically eliminated, as the captain led the team to a 2-1 win against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.

Doan collected two assists tonight to push his season points total to 26 in 46 games. That ended a seven-game pointless streak for the hard-hitting winger.

Shane Doan is the Phoenix Coyotes nominee for the Bill Masterton Trophy.

The Masterton is given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. Doan is the face of the Coyotes franchise and is the last remaining player on the team who played in Winnipeg before the franchise moved after the 1995-96 season. He has 13 goals and 24 points this season in 45 games with a plus-five rating.
Apr 23 - 10:51 AM

Shane Doan registered five shots on goal Monday, but was not able to find the scoresheet in a 4-0 loss to Detroit.

With 24 points this season, Doan can still be counted on for a decent source of points in deeper leagues while providing some penalty minutes as well. Doan doesn't have many fantasy relevant seasons left, but he is probably still the best forward the Coyotes have to offer.

Shane Doan was seen receiving treatment Friday for an injury he suffered in Thursday's game against the Blues.

Doan missed the final few minutes of the second period Thursday, but returned for the third and showed no ill effects. Stay tuned for an official status, but our guess is he'll be good to go against the Blackhawks Saturday.
Apr 20 - 7:46 AM

Coyotes captain Shane Doan scored twice in the third period in the Los Angeles Kings' 3-2 Wednesday night win over Phoenix, which was shut out in three straight games for the first time in the franchise’s 33-year history.

The Coyotes had been stopped on 133 consecutive shots before Doan’s first goal, scored on a deflection of Keith Yandle’s wrist shot from the left point with 8:32 remaining and the teams skating 4-on-4. "When you haven’t scored in three games, you’re going to get pretty desperate," said Doan, who added his 11th of the season with 41 seconds to play. "We were desperate enough, but we didn’t find a way to do it. I think if you play that game nine more times, we probably win it eight times. That’s why (the Kings) are the Stanley Cup champions. They found a way to win that game."
Mar 21 - 11:19 AM

Shane Doan broke the Coyotes’ three-game scoreless drought in the third period with two goals in Phoenix’s 3-2 loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The goals are Doan’s 10th and 11th on the year, in what was a huge game for the veteran captain. He recorded a season-high 11 shots on goal and almost single-handedly brought the Yotes back. The team’s goalless streak extended over 245 minutes of game action.
Mar 20 - 1:28 AM

Shane Doan scored in Phoenix's 2-1 win over the Stars on Saturday night.

Doan now has three goals over his last five games, and 13 points on the year. Rob Klinkhammer had the go-ahead goal, his first in 17 NHL games, in his Coyotes debut. Boyd Gordon, David Moss, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Antoine Vermette recorded the assists.
Mar 9 - 10:40 PM

Phoenix captain Shane Doan scored his seventh goal of the season in the Coyotes' 6-3 loss to the visiting St. Louis Blues Thursday night.

Also scoring for Phoenix were David Moss, his third of the season, and Keith Yandle, his fifth.
Mar 7 - 11:46 PM

A scheduling quirk in the NHL has the Phoenix Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks playing three consecutive games against each other.

"It’s different," captain Shane Doan said. "You talk to those (baseball) guys, they get to enjoy doing this more often than we do. It’s something as a player you enjoy it because it’s unique. It’s almost like a mini playoff series."
Mar 2 - 10:26 AM

Shane Doan is tied with Keith Tkachuk for second place in the Phoenix Coyotes' all-time goals list.

Doan scored his 323rd on Thursday. He's spent his entire career with the original Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes franchise and will probably retire as a member of the organization after inking a four-year/$21.2 million contract that runs through 2015-16.
Mar 1 - 11:07 AM

Shane Doan scored two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner in Phoenix's 3-2 overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche.

Doan has gotten off to a slow start to the season, but he exploded against the Avalanche. He's a decent source of points, even at his age, and also is a solid source of PIM's. He doesn't have many fantasy relevant seasons left, but he is still the best forward the Coyotes have to offer so use him often.
Feb 12 - 3:09 AM

Shane Doan found the back of the net, but the Coyotes fell to the Kings on Saturday night 4-2.

Phoenix's captain is off to a great start this season, with two goals and two assists. He also had seven penalty minutes. Mikkel Boedker also scored, and he has five points on the year.
Jan 26 - 11:13 PM

Shane Doan played in his 1,200th NHL game on Sunday.

Doan has played his entire career for the Coyote franchise, even before they moved to Phoenix from Winnipeg. Congratulations to Doan on his achievement.
