Shane Doan (lower body) is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

He skated Monday morning, but won't play against the Predators. The 40-year-old winger had two points in two games prior to getting hurt against Detroit last Thursday.
Mar 20 - 3:33 PM

Do not expect Shane Doan (lower body) to play on Monday.

Doan was injured Thursday and missed Saturday's game. He has only six goals and 25 points this season so he should not be in your lineup even if he was healthy.
Mar 20 - 6:56 AM

Shane Doan won't play in Saturday's match with the Blues due to a lower body injury.

The captain will travel with the team on their upcoming roadie, however. He's considered day-to-day, for now.
Mar 18 - 1:47 PM

Shane Doan is doubtful for Saturday's game with a lower body injury.

Doan was injured on Thursday and did not practice Friday. While the loss of Doan to your fantasy lineup may have hurt a couple of seasons ago, he has only six goals and 25 points this season. The 40-year-old has no fantasy relevance.
Mar 18 - 6:12 AM

Shane Doan left Arizona's loss to Detroit in the second period with an injury.

The injury was labeled as a "lower body" injury. The 40-year-old did have an assist before leaving the game.
Mar 17 - 2:17 AM

Shane Doan registered an assist in the Coyotes' 3-2 shootout win against Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Doan has six goals and 24 points in 69 contests this season. He's 31 points away from 1,000, but given his offensive decline in 2016-17 he might not reach that milestone even if he decides to return for the 2017-18 campaign.
Mar 15 - 5:20 AM

Shane Doan missed the start of Monday's game because he was undergoing the concussion protocol.

Doan crashed into defenseman Jakob Chychrun during the pregame warmups while Doan wasn't wearing a helmet. Doan stumbled initially as he tried to get to his feet and that presumably contributed to the doctors wanting to take a look at him. The Coyotes could have simply scratched Doan at that point, but Coyotes coach Dave Tippett talked to Doan before the game, who said he was good, so Tippett decided to keep Doan in the lineup. It wasn't until the first period was about three-quarters over before Doan finished passing the concussion protocol and joined the Coyotes.
Mar 14 - 8:08 AM

Shane Doan scored a goal and two assists in Arizona's 4-2 win over Carolina.

He was able to put an end to his 12-game goalless drought in the process. There were rumors about Doan being shipped off to another team before last Wednesday's trade deadline, but he ultimately ended up staying with the only organization he's ever known. Doan helped set up goals by Christian Dvorak (1-0) and Jordan Martinook (3-2) before a power play goal to make it 4-2 for his team. Doan has six goals and 17 assists in 64 games. He still isn't worth adding in most fantasy leagues.
Mar 3 - 10:44 PM

Shane Doan didn't seem surprised that in the end he wasn't presented with a potential trade opportunity.

Doan was willing to consider waiving his no-movement clause if a serious Stanley Cup contender was interested in acquiring him, but that scenario never materialized. "I mean, hey, I’m a 40-year-old fourth liner," Doan said. " … Forty is probably not the best time to be thinking about hoping to contribute for somebody. But at the same time, I look at the fact I’ve been given an opportunity that not a lot of people are given to play their whole 22 years with one organization." There might have been a market for Doan in general, but he didn't want to leave the Coyotes unless the "perfect situation" presented itself. He can become an unrestricted free agent this summer and it will be interesting to see if he decides to extend his career and if he considers offers from any team other than Arizona.
Mar 2 - 7:27 AM

Shane Doan recorded his 20th point of the season on Monday.

This is the 18th consecutive season where Doan has recorded at least 20 points. Of course, he's done far more than that in many of those years, but at the age of 40 he has understandably taken a step back offensively. He still would be a valuable veteran presence and support option for a playoff team if he decides to request a trade. It's not yet known if he wants to be moved to a contender though or if he would rather stay with the only franchise he's ever played for.
Feb 21 - 4:13 AM

Shane Doan hasn't asked to be traded, per Coyotes GM John Chayka.

"To date we've talked quite a bit and I've left it that if he has a belief that it might be in the best interest for himself and his family to try and take a run at the Stanley Cup I'm open to having that discussion with him," Chayka said. "I wouldn't be fair to Shane to not have that discussion. I respect him too much to not have it. Having said that, he hasn't told me to explore these opportunities and look into things. He's happy with being a Coyote. He signed here for a reason. He's only played here ever. That's where we're at today." Chayka has received calls from other teams regarding Doan's availability, but it sounds like the Coyotes are in a holding pattern for now. Doan would provide a playoff-bound team with depth and a veteran presence and it would also give Doan an opportunity to potentially end his career with a Stanley Cup championship, but we'll have to wait to see if Doan ultimately wants to play for any other team.

Feb 17 - 5:18 PM

Shane Doan recorded an assist in the Coyotes' 5-0 win against Calgary on Monday.

Doan has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last five games. He's up to five goals and 19 points in 54 contests. He's still 36 points shy of 1,000, so if he is going to reach that milestone he will almost certainly have to play beyond the 2016-17 campaign.
Feb 14 - 5:02 AM

Shane Doan is on a three-game point streak.

Doan had an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to Montreal on Thursday. He has five goals and 18 points in 52 contests this season.
