Patrick Lalime, who had been dealing with a knee injury, served as Jhonas Enroth's backup on Wednesday night.

Ryan Miller was scratched from the lineup due an upper-body injury. It was the first time that Lalime dressed since he backed up Enroth on March 6 against Minnesota.

Patrick Lalime (knee) skated for the first time on Wednesday.

He took part in an optional practice, but is still day-to-day with a knee injury. Lalime has no fantasy value.

Patrick Lalime is sidelined due to a knee injury.

Buffalo already had three goaltenders on their active roster, including Jhonas Enroth, so they won't need to make a roster move as a result of Lalime's injury. Lalime has started in just four games this season and none since November 20th.

Patrick Lalime did not practice on Wednesday because of a sore knee, according to coach Lindy Ruff.

Jhonas Enroth is still up with the team and he will likely serve as Ryan Miller's backup on Thursday night anyway.

Patrick Lalime might start in one of the Sabres' two games this weekend.

Buffalo plays in Philadelphia on Saturday and in Minnesota on Sunday. Sabres coach Lindy Ruff has already made it known that he will be splitting the goaltending duties, but the question is if that means Lalime will play. Buffalo might decide to call up Jhonas Enroth to get the other start, given that they did the same thing under similar circumstances in mid-February. That being said, Enroth was practicing in Portland on Friday, so the team might be reluctant to fly him all the way to Philadelphia or Minnesota for a one-day NHL stint. We'll keep you posted.

Patrick Lalime will serve as the backup goaltender on Tuesday despite the fact that Ryan Miller won't be playing.

Lalime hasn't started in a game since November 20th and the Sabres decided to call up youngster Jhonas Enroth rather than give Lalime some playing time. It should go without saying that Lalime has no fantasy value.

Number one goalie Ryan Miller is suspected to get the night off on Tuesday night for the Buffalo Sabres, but it doesn't guarantee that his understudy Patrick Lalime will get the nod.

Lalime hasn't played since Jan. 21 and his last start came on Nov. 20. The Sabres may bring up Jhonas Enroth from the minors to play instead. Miller will likely return to the crease Wednesday versus Toronto. Stay tuned to see what the team decides.

Patrick Lalime might end up starting in Tuesday's game.

Coach Lindy Ruff hasn't announced a starter yet, but he did strongly hint that Ryan Miller could a game off in the near future. Miller has started in 31 straight games, but the Sabres are scheduled to play seven times in the next 12 days.

Playing in place of the injured Ryan Miller, a mistake by Patrick Lalime led to directly to the winning goal on Saturday night.

Lalime's line at the end of the night - allowing two goals on 22 shots - wasn't a bad one, but his misplay of the puck that ended up on the stick of Adam Hall was costly. "Mistake that cost a game," said Lalime. I made the wrong play there. I tried to suck the guy in. It was just a bad pass." The loss drops Lalime's record to 0-4. Even in the event of a long-term absence by Miller, we wouldn't feel comfortable rolling with him.

Patrick Lalime allowed two goals on 20 shots in the Sabres' 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.

Poor Lalime. He just cannot seem to win a game. The Sabres backup netminder did what he could to give the Sabres a chance to come away with the victory, but it wasn't enough. With the loss, his record falls to 0-4. His peripheral numbers are largely unimpressive. Lalime is sporting a 3.03 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.

Patrick Lalime will likely get at least one start next week.

The Sabres play five games in eight days starting tonight and with Ryan Miller coming off injury tonight, Miller will not be able to handle the whole load.

Patrick Lalime did not have appendicitis, as the team originally feared.

"It was a false alarm," Lalime said. "Everything was kind of leading to that a little bit, so we just went in [to the doctor] and took a look because we're coming on the road, make sure everything was looking good, so it's all good. Just a little stomach pain there, and I didn't want to take a chance. I feel good. I'm ready to go." He backed up Jhonas Enroth in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over New Jersey. It is unclear at this time who coach Lindy Ruff will start on Thursday versus the Rangers, but we'll let you know when we hear something.

Patrick Lalime (abdominal pains) is expected to serve as Jhonas Enroth's backup on Wednesday against the Devils.

He did skate on Wednesday and it doesn't look like he will need his appendix removed, as it was originally feared.

Patrick Lalime (severe abdominal pains) was looked at by doctors on Tuesday and the team is waiting for the results.

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff thought Lalime might have appendicitis, but we haven't heard confirmation of that. Lalime isn't expected to play in Wednesday's game.
