Martin Biron sticked aside 23 shots in the Rangers' 3-0 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

New York has now lost eight games in a row at the Bell Centre, but the bigger picture is it's just not scoring enough goals. If the team doesn't figure this out very soon, it can kiss any playoff hopes goodbye.
Mar 30 - 9:51 PM

Look for Martin Biron to start Saturday against Montreal.

Henrik Lundqvist needs a little time to clear his head after a number of unfortunate games played by the Rangers in front of him.
Mar 30 - 11:49 AM

Martin Biron could get the start Sunday at home against the Washington Capitals.

Number one goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has made sixth straight starts now. Biron's last start for the Rangers came two weeks ago today when he backstopped a 4-1 win over these very same Capitals down in Washington D.C. It is still not known if Biron will be between the pipes tonight, but the signs seem to be pointing that way. Stay tuned for a Rotoworld update later today when we get the official confirmation.

Martin Biron will probably get the nod for the Rangers Thursday night against Florida.

Henrik Lundqvist started Monday and Tuesday and although the team says he's "fine," he got banged up a bit against New Jersey when teammate Dan Girardi collided with him. Thursday would be a good time to give him a rest, so that he's fresher for Sunday's contest against Washington in the club's next game. Stay tuned for confirmation.
Mar 21 - 10:55 AM

Martin Biron got his second win of the 2013 season as the New York Rangers beat the Washington Capitals 4-1.

Biron stopped 28 out of 29 shots today. This was just his fifth appearance of the campaign, as Henrik Lundqvist has been the workhorse as expected.
Mar 10 - 3:23 PM

Martin Biron will be between the pipes Sunday on the road against Braden Holtby and the Washington Capitals.

Biron has been a great backup for Henrik Lundqvist and has proven that he can be trusted when called upon by coach John Tortorella. Although the Rangers have been major underachievers this season, Biron is still a nice spot starter if you have the extra roster space on your fantasy team and are in need of a few quality games played between the pipes. He has a win, a 2.50 GAA and a .911 save percentage in four games this season.

Goaltender Martin Biron, playing for the New York Rangers for the first time in nine days, gave up three goals and stopped only 15 shots in the Montreal Canadiens' 3-0 shutout Saturday night.

It was Biron's third start of the season and he may not get another one for a while. The Rangers have been major underachievers, having lost three in a row and four of their past five games.
Feb 23 - 10:54 PM

Martin Biron will get the start against Montreal Saturday night.

He last played nine days ago in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.
Feb 23 - 12:06 PM

Martin Biron allowed three goals on 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders Thursday.

All of the Islanders' damage was inflicted during the first half of the second period, but the Rangers backup was otherwise very solid. His career record against the Isles falls to 21-4-2 with the loss.
Feb 14 - 10:05 PM

Just to confirm an earlier post, Martin Biron will start Thursday night versus the Islanders.

In his career against the Isles, Biron has been superb while earning a 21-4-1 record with a 2.03 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. His second start of the season will give Henrik Lundqvist the night off.
Feb 14 - 12:43 PM

Martin Biron was the first goalie off the ice Thursday morning, indicating he'll be between the pipes against the New York Islanders.

He has only started in one other game for the Rangers this season and it came on Feb. 2 in a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.
Feb 14 - 12:04 PM

Martin Biron made 30 saves in the Rangers' 3-2 win over the Lightning on Friday night.

Biron had a relief appearance earlier in the season, but this was his first start and it didn't look like he missed a beat from last season's stellar back-up work. Biron made 20 starts last season to keep Henrik Lundqvist fresh for the playoffs, meaning he should be good for about 10 more in this shortened campaign.
Feb 2 - 10:20 PM

Martin Biron has played in all of 31 minutes of professional level hockey over the last eight months, but he feels ready to start Saturday.

Biron didn't get work in Europe during the lockout and this will be his first start of the shortened season. "I feel good," said Biron. "We did our preparation with Benny (goalie coach Benoit Allaire) the last little while. I’ve been getting ready, kind of underline some points that you want to focus on, some things you want to do. I’ve been trusting that for two years now, the work you put in in practice and the game situations we do is going to prepare you for the games. So that’s what I’ve been doing." He was good in his stint in relief of Henrik Lundqvist on Jan. 20, but we wouldn't expect too much of him Saturday, especially against the dangerous Tampa Bay Lightning.
Feb 2 - 4:04 PM

It looks as if Martin Biron will get the start Saturday against the Lightning.

He was the first goalie off the ice at practice Saturday which is usually a sign as to who starts that day. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.
