Olie Jokinen and Robert Bortuzzo are expected to be healthy scratches for Game 4 Wednesday night versus Minnesota.

It’s been a tough year for the veteran forward, Jokinen, who has been a healthy scratch more regularly dating back to the last few weeks of the season. Bortuzzo had been seeing regular ice time with the Penguins before being traded to the Blues, but with a deep defensive core, Bortuzzo will continue to remain in the press box. Joining Jokinen and Bortuzzo in the stands are Marcel Goc, Chris Butler, Niklas Lundstrom, and Ty Rattie.

Blues forwards, Olli Jokinen, Chris Porter, and Ty Rattie, will all be healthy scratches Monday night for Game 3 against the Wild.

Jokinen is the biggest omission of the trio but has not seen much game action since being acquired by the Blues. He’s recorded just one goal and two assists in eight games with the Blues during the regular season and was a healthy scratch in Games 1 and 2 versus the Wild. He does, however, have a chance to get in the lineup if an injury occurs, so his situation is worth monitoring. Porter and Rattie will most likely watch from the press box for the remainder of the Blues playoff games.

Apr 20 - 6:19 PM

Olli Jokinen scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

There's a realistic chance that these two teams could face-off in the first round of the playoffs. The win means that the Blues can finish no lower than third in the Central division. Jokinen is no longer in his prime so his offensive output has been extremely limited all year. The 36-year-old now has just four goals and nine points in 60 games with the Predators, Leafs and Blues this season. David Backes also scored for St. Louis.
Apr 5 - 10:10 PM

Olli Jokinen will be in the Blues lineup Monday night versus the Canucks.

With Alexander Steen (lower body injury) unable to play Monday, Jokinen will dress and play on a line with David Backes and T.J. Oshie for Monday’s game. Jokinen has been a healthy scratch for the last two Blues games and has scored just three goals and four assists in 57 games played this year. He is no longer a reliable fantasy commodity and should be left on the waiver wire for the remainder of this season.
Mar 30 - 5:02 PM

Olli Jokinen, Dmitrij Jaskin, and Chris Butler will each sit out against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, none of these three players have much fantasy value. Jokinen has not produced with the Blues, and has just six points in 57 games this season with the Blues, Leafs, and Predators. Jaskin meanwhile has had a nice rookie season with 15 points in 48 games, but the newly 22 year old has yet to fully blossom for fantasy purposes.

Mar 24 - 6:43 PM

Olli Jokinen will play in Sunday's game against the Dallas Stars.

The 36-year-old has missed the last three games with an upper body injury. He hasn't put up many points this season and his fantasy value will continue to be non-existent when he returns.
Mar 15 - 1:59 PM

Olli Jokinen will not play in either of the Blues' games this weekend.

He is still nursing an upper-body injury and will likely not be able to return to action until next week at the earliest.
Mar 14 - 12:47 PM

Coach Ken Hitchcock said that Olli Jokinen (upper body) would be back in the lineup against Philadelphia on Thursday.

He was back at practice on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury. Jokinen was hurt in Saturday's match against Toronto.
Mar 12 - 10:42 AM

Olli Jokinen (upper body) will miss Tuesday's game after all.

Jokinen was previously projected to be available after leaving Saturday's contest due to the ailment. Marcel Goc will be inserted into the lineup as a result.
Mar 10 - 12:38 PM

Olli Jokinen (upper body) is expected to be available for Tuesday.

However, it's unclear if he'll play against Winnipeg or sit as a scratch. Jokinen left Saturday's game versus Toronto in the third period due to an upper-body injury.
Mar 10 - 11:41 AM

Olli Jokinen sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday's win over Toronto.

He exited the game in the third period. An update on his status may come Monday, but consider him day-to-day for now. Jokinen was playing in his first game with the Blues after he was obtained from the Leafs at the trade deadline.
Mar 9 - 2:47 PM

Olli Jokinen had no points in his debut with the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

Jokinen made his debut with his new team against the team (Toronto) that traded him away last Monday. The 36-year-old played 10:29 in the game and he had just one shot in the contest. He isn't a good bet to produce big offensive numbers down the stretch. Jokinen has just three goals and seven points in 55 games this season.
Mar 8 - 11:12 AM

Olli Jokinen will make his Blues debut as the fourth line center Saturday night against his (briefly) former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jokinen will be flanked by Steve Ott and Ryan Reaves, potentially making one of the slower, but also one of the more effective bottom lines in the league. While Jokinen's fantasy impact is minimal, bear in mind that Reaves has 100 PIMs and 216 hits to lead the Blues. And Ott has 61 PIMs and 139 hits himself.

Mar 7 - 5:52 PM

Although he was only with the Maple Leafs for two weeks, Olli Jokinen liked his time in Toronto.

"Two weeks, a short time, but everything was first class and hopefully they can turn it around and have a playoff team because it's a great city to play," Jokinen said. "For me, I've always been in a place where hockey matters, and that's the case. There's nothing bigger than hockey there, but you can see it's really hard for the players." Toronto acquired Jokinen from Nashville, but then dealt him to St. Louis on March 2. Jokinen will make his Blues debut on Saturday versus the Maple Leafs.
