While the Anaheim Ducks seem to be leaving the door open ever so slightly for Toni Lydman to play in Game 4, it appears likely that Sheldon Souray will play instead.

Bruce Boudreau says that "bright lights are bugging" Lydman, so it certainly sounds like Lydman isn't good to go. Souray was a healthy scratch in Game 3.

Sheldon Souray missed Monday's game after getting 'banged up' on Sunday according to the Orange County Register.

Souray missed only his second game of the season because of general soreness. He has had a very good fantasy season with seven goals and 16 points in 38 games with an awesome plus-26 rating which is best in the NHL and 46 penalty minutes. Consider the defenseman day-to-day.
Apr 9 - 6:07 AM

Sheldon Souray's shot with 2:08 left in regulation found the back of the net and the Anaheim Ducks' 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks at United Center finished off a season sweep of the team they're chasing for the Western Conference's top spot.

"I saw the angle that it was going to come off at," Souray said. "I played pool once or twice when I was a kid. I had some time at that point and I didn't want to let somebody get in the way and get (it) blocked." The Ducks (23-7-4), who are three points back of Chicago, were more focused on breaking their four-game losing streak than whether they've put something in the Blackhawks' heads should they possibly meet in the postseason.
Mar 30 - 10:01 AM

Defenseman Sheldon Souray is enjoying a first-rate season but was a healthy scratch by Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau Friday night against Anaheim as a means of resting him up ahead of Saturday's contest in Phoenix.

It was the first game missed for Souray, who has played a big role for the winning Ducks with four goals, eight points and a plus-13 rating. "Somewhere during this month, there's going to be days off for him and other guys too," Boudreau said. Souray faded as his season went on for Dallas last year, and Boudreau is taking that into account as well as the 21 minutes he is averaging per night. "There's a lot of reasons why you want to keep a guy like him fresh because he's done great for us," Boudreau said.
