Unconfirmed, but the Islanders may start John Grahame this afternoon against the Ottawa Senators.
The Islanders are playing an April Fools joke on us right? This is a team in complete shambles, led by billionaire Charles Wang and the neophyte Garth Snow at the helm of this sinking ship. Grahame was a goaltending coach with Sioux City of the USHL this season. Sun, Apr 1, 2012 12:04:00 PM

The Colorado Avalanche have returned veteran John Grahame back to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.

Grahame was up with the big club strictly as a backup while Craig Anderson was on the sidelines with a knee injury. Anderson is ready to resume his duties as the starter, although former backup Peter Budaj could get another start or two while Anderson gets back into game shape slowly.

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed goaltender John Grahame to a one-year contract.

Grahame last played in the NHL in the 2007-08 season with Carolina. He signed a professional tryout with the Philadelphia Flyers in December and then signed with the Avs in March. He played the 2008-09 season in the KHL. Grahame is a depth goaltender for the Avalanche who will have Craig Anderson and Peter Budaj at the NHL level. He has no fantasy value unless you are in an AHL pool.

The Flyers signed John Grahame to a professional tryout for their minor league affiliate in Adirondack.

It is a strong possibility that Grahame will be recalled to back up Brian Boucher if he proves he can still play. With Ray Emery out at least six weeks after abdominal surgery, they're looking for a veteran back up rather than stick with Johan Backlund.

John Grahame kicked out 25 of 29 shots in a 5-1 loss Monday.

John Grahame has been recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Grahaame was 4-3 in Albany of the AHL with a 3.04 GAA and a save percentage of .912. The Hurricanes put Grahame on re-entry waivers on Sunday, and when no one claimed the goaltender, Carolina recalled him. Cam Ward will get the bulk of the work for the Hurricanes the rest of the way, so Grahame has no fantasy value unless Ward gets hurt.

John Grahame was placed on re-entry waivers by the Hurricanes on Sunday.

While Grahame has played well in the minors, this is likely to entice other teams to claim him off the waiver wire. Re-entry waivers dictate that the Hurricanes must pick up half the remaining salary of the player should another team claim him, thereby sweetening the pot. If he isn't claimed, it is unclear what will happen in Carolina, as Michael Leighton remains the backup to Cam Ward.
