Date:

Bryce Salvador (lower body) has been moved to the injured reserve list.

The move is retroactive to Nov. 10, so Salvador can be called up whenever he's healthy. That being said, the Devils don't plan to take him on their upcoming four-game road trip, so his return obviously isn't imminent.
Nov 17 - 10:54 AM

Bryce Salvador will miss Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury.

Salvador has two points and 20 penalty minutes in 15 games this season. He's one of those players that matters considerably more to his actual team than he does to standard league fantasy owners.
Nov 11 - 4:42 PM

There are some New Jersey Devil fans who are booing team captain Bryce Salvador.

The veteran defenseman claims that he doesn't hear the booing but his teammates have come to his defense. "If you’re going to boo anyone, I don’t know why you boo Bryce Salvador," teammate Ryane Clowe said. "The people in New Jersey seem like they like honest, hard-working players and you don’t get anybody more honest or more of a team guy. He’s already stuck his nose in there a couple times for teammates and he’s the captain. That’s why guys love him." That being said, Salvador has no fantasy value.
Nov 1 - 7:17 AM

Bryce Salvador logged just 12:59 minutes of ice time on Thursday.

Salvador only took two shifts in the third period and he wasn't used at all in overtime. "We were down," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "If we were up, a guy like Salvador is playing all the time. If we’re down, we"re looking for offense at that point and you readjust the bench forwards and defensemen." Salvador has averaged 19:10 minutes per contest in 2014-15.
Oct 31 - 10:59 AM

The New Jersey Devils are having some trouble with their penalty killing.

Bryce Salvador and Andy Greene were on the ice for both of the Sharks power play goals on Saturday as the Devils have now given up six goals on 26 chances. "We have a good PK," Salvador said. "Right now we’ve come up against some of the top power plays in the league. Right now some of the minors (two-minute penalties) we’re taking are costing us. But I don’t think it was the difference in the game. We had our chances and could’ve easily tied it up and won. We had them hemmed in and we felt like we were going to get it and tie it up."
Oct 19 - 7:36 AM

Although Bryce Salvador is healthy, he's only played in one preseason game thus far.

Salvador dealt with a hip injury last season and that likely is related to the Devils' decision to give him a relatively light workload over the preseason. He plans to play in at least one more exhibition contest before the regular season starts.
Oct 2 - 8:41 AM

Veteran Bryce Salvador is healthy once again after a suffering through a hip problem last season.

Salvador played in only 40 games last season as he was dealing with a torn labrum in his hip. The defenseman will turn 39 in February and gives the Devils a solid veteran on the blueline but he has little to no fantasy value as his one goal and four points last season will attest to.
Sep 27 - 8:53 AM

Bryce Salvador is no longer dealing with a hip problem.

Salvador was limited to just 40 contests in 2013-14, but he should be fine for the start of training camp. The bigger question is if the Devils will decide to buy out the final season of his contract.
Jun 17 - 6:53 PM

There's a chance that Bryce Salvador's tenure with the New Jersey Devils will end with a compliance buyout.

Salvador's cap hit for the 2014-15 campaign will be $3,166,667 and his contract will expire after that. He was limited to just 40 games last season, but he did log an average of 20:17 minutes per game when he was healthy.
Jun 17 - 11:07 AM

Bryce Salvador (groin) hasn't started to skate yet.

With that in mind, Salvador probably won't be back before the end of the regular season. He has a goal and three assists in 40 games in 2013-14.
Apr 7 - 10:11 AM

New Jersey defenseman Bryce Salvador was examined by a doctor Friday after missing Thursday's game with a groin injury and will sit out again tonight.

The Devils, struggling for their playoff lives, visit the New York Islanders tonight.
Mar 29 - 10:01 AM

Bryce Salvador (bruised collarbone) returned to action on Tuesday March 4.

Salvador was out for two games because of the ailment. He had a plus-one rating and four hits in 20:53 minutes of ice time.
Mar 5 - 2:38 AM

Bryce Salvador (bruised collarbone) is a possibility for Tuesday's game.

Salvador has missed two straight games due to the ailment. He participated in Monday's optional skate.
Mar 4 - 10:40 AM

Bryce Salvador (upper body) sat out his second straight game on Sunday.

Salvador took a shot off his collarbone/upper chest area Thursday and has not played since. He could not go on the weekend so consider him day-to-day for now. He has no fantasy value with only three assists in 30 games.
