According to New Jersey GM Lou Lamoriello, Bryce Salvador's bruised left wrist/thumb is now "100 percent."
"He's back to normal," Lamoriello said Wednesday. "I saw him yesterday and he's perfect." Salvador was injured blocking a shot from Zdeno Chara and the ailment forced him to miss the last eight games of the regular season. May 16 - 10:25 AM

Date:

Bryce Salvador won't need surgery on his wrist and should be cleared to work out in a week.

Just an FYI for those wondering about Salvador's wrist injury. He has no fantasy value next season.
Apr 29 - 9:05 PM

Bryce Salvador (wrist) is done for the season.

Of course, at this point all that means is that he won't play this week. He had two points in 22 penalty minutes in 39 games this season.
Apr 22 - 5:39 PM

Bryce Salvador (bruised right wrist) admitted Thursday he might not be able to play again this season.

Salvador suffered the injury when he took a Zdeno Chara slapshot off his wrist. The Devils' captain said the puck struck him where the thumb meets the hand but reiterated that X-rays were still negative. It's unlikely he'll play again this season.
Apr 19 - 9:55 AM

Bryce Salvador was sent for an additional opinion on his bruised right wrist.

Salvador hasn't played since taking a Zdeno Chara slapshot off his wrist last week. X-rays and MRIs have shown no fracture but there's been no improvement. It's possible Salvador has played his last game this season.
Apr 16 - 5:08 PM

Bryce Salvador (wrist) isn't traveling with the New Jersey Devils.

Salvador will consequently miss his second straight game on Monday. He has two points and 22 penalty minutes in 39 games this season.
Apr 15 - 8:50 AM

Bryce Salvador (wrist) is considered doubtful for Monday's game against Toronto.

"I think the extent of the injury was more than day to day for him and I don't see him being ready for Monday," coach Pete DeBoer said. He hasn't skated since bruising his wrist on a Zdeno Chara slap shot on Wednesday night.
Apr 13 - 3:29 PM

Bryce Salvador (bruised wrist) won't play against the Ottawa Senators on Friday.

X-rays on the wrist were negative but Pete DeBoer did call the injury a "significant" bruise Thursday. DeBoer said Friday that Salvador is "not good enough to play." Salvador is playing though a number of injuries at the moment and looks like a shell of his former self most nights.
Apr 12 - 11:31 AM

X-rays on Bryce Salvador's wrist were negative but the defenseman still has a "fairly significant bruise."

Salvador's status for Friday's game against the Senators is unknown. The Devils captain took a Zdeno Chara slapshot off his wrist during Wednesday night's game and couldn't even grip his stick afterward. We should know more after Friday's morning skate.
Apr 12 - 9:54 AM

Bryce Salvador will be re-evaluated Thursday after taking a Zdeno Chara slap shot off his wrist.

"He's pretty banged up," coach Peter DeBoer said. "You stand in front of a Chara slap shot, it takes a lot of guts to do that and that's why he's our captain." Salvador's wrist was probably fractured on the play, which means he could be done for the year, but we'll wait for official word from the team regarding his status.
Apr 11 - 10:25 AM

Bryce Salvador left Wednesday's game with a wrist injury.

The defenseman was injured in the second period, having played just 6:15 with a minus-one rating. With Anton Volchenkov getting ejected, the Devils played some of the second and all of the third period with four defensemen. Salvador will be re-evaluated on Thursday.
Apr 10 - 9:45 PM

Bryce Salvador left Thursday's game during the first period for a few shifts due to what he called an equipment malfunction.

Salvador left after taking a hip check to his right hip and knee. Salvador says his knee brace came undone but it looked much worse than that. Salvador could barely put any pressure on his leg as he glided off the ice and it's pretty clear he's playing at significantly less than 100 percent.
Apr 5 - 10:19 AM

Bryce Salvador was able to suit up Friday night against the Lightning.

He had left Monday's game with a lower-body injury but practised Thursday and was able to play in the shootout loss to Tampa. If for some reason you have Salvador on your fantasy team, he seems fine to activate as he took 25 shifts and had over 25 minutes of ice time Friday night.
Mar 30 - 2:26 AM

Bryce Salvador (lower body) says he'll be in the lineup for Friday's game against the Lightning.

Salvador left Monday's game with the injury but practiced fully on Thursday and appears ready to go. Despite his status as the Devils' captain and one of their top defensemen, Salvador has no real fantasy value.
Mar 29 - 10:13 AM

Bryce Salvador (lower body) and Stephen Gionta (upper body) don't have serious injuries, according to New Jersey GM Lou Lamoriello.

Both of them were injured in Monday's shootout loss to Ottawa. "They are status quo. They went on the trip. They did nothing today, so we'll see how they are tomorrow," Lamoriello said on Tuesday. "Hopefully it will be day to day, but we don't know."
