Alex Tanguay scored Colorado's only goal in their 2-1 loss to Washington on Monday night.

Tanguay's second period goal was scored on the power play. The 35-year-old is having a decent bounce-back season after being limited to just 16 games one year ago. Tanguay has 13 goals and 28 points at the midway point of the season. Jarome Iginla and Tyson Barried picked up assists on Tanguay's goal. The loss ends the Avalanche's three-game winning streak.

Alex Tanguay recorded his 800th career point on, what else, a third period assist during Colorado's 5-2 win over Ottawa.

Neither of his helpers on Thursday were spectacular, they were just quality passes to the right man, a man who can put the biscuit in the basket - Jarome Iginla. Through 977 games over 15 seasons (eight with the Avs) Tanguay has 265 goals and 800 points. Not too shabby for the former 12th overall pick in the 1998 Entry Draft.

Alex Tanguay scored a goal and added an assist for the Avalanche in Tuesday's 5-0 shutout win over St. Louis.

Tanguay continues to be one of the more underappreciated players in the fantasy game, as his 24 points would surely be of use to a lot of teams. Jerome Iginla, Erik Johnson, Ryan O'Reilly and Zach Redmond all chipped in with goals for Colorado in the victory.

Alex Tanguay recorded three points to lead the Avalanche to a 5-1 win over the Sabres on Saturday night.

Tanguay scored twice -- once via the empty net -- and assisted once. While many of the Avalanche are performing under expectations, the 35-year-old has turned back the clock with a great start to the season. Tanguay has 11 goals and 22 points in 30 games this season. Erik Johnson and John Mitchell each notched a goal and an assist, while Cody McLeod picked up the other goal. Jarome Iginla tallied three helpers in the win.

Alex Tanguay tallied three points in the Avalanche’s 5-2 win over the Stars on Saturday night.

The veteran scored and assisted twice. At 35, Tanguay is certainly past his prime, though he’s performed at a pretty good clip this season — eight goals, 15 points in 22 games. Despite outshooting the Stars 47 to 24, the unblocked five-on-five shot attempts were much closer: 37 to 35. Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene both potted a goal and added a helper. Jarome Iginla and Daniel Briere got the other markers. Tyson Barrie chipped in with three assists. Colorado has won five of its last seven games.

Alex Tanguay (face) will not be available to play on Tuesday after all.

Tanguay was initially projected to return, but he's still experiencing pain and his vision is blurred. If there's a silver lining, it's that he took part in Tuesday's morning skate. This will be his second straight game on the sidelines.

Although it was good news that Alex Tanguay did not break his jaw when he was struck by a puck in the face Thursday night, he will be out of action indefinitely with facial fractures.

News coming out of Denver is that Tanguay could need more than a few games to heal to the point where he can wear a shield and play. Reserve the veteran forward immediately.
