Eric Brewer scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over Ottawa.
The Leafs dealt the Sens playoff chances a blow by picking up the second point in the standings. Phil Kessel found Tyler Bozak in the slot and he rang the puck off the post but Brewer was there to put in the rebound. The goal was Brewer's first as a member of the Maple Leafs and just his second on the season. The 35-year-old finished the game with a plus-2 rating, one shot on goal, two hits and a blocked shot in 20:57 of action against the Sens on Saturday. Sun, Mar 29, 2015 10:36:00 AM

Eric Brewer played in his 1000th game on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old has split time with six different teams throughout his career (Islanders, Oilers, Blues, Lightning, Ducks and Leafs). He has 75 goals and 267 points in his NHL career. Brewer has had a nice career, but his days of being an effective top-four defenseman in the league are over.

Eric Brewer played his first game with the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

He suited up against Tampa Bay, where he played for the past five seasons. Brewer was caught out of position on the first goal of the game by the Lightning, but he finished with an even rating in 16:30 of ice time.

Eric Brewer has been acquired by Toronto in the Korbinian Holzer trade.

The Leafs also received a fifth-round draft selection. Toronto will be Brewer's third team this season after he started with Tampa Bay prior to being traded to Anaheim. He has six points in 26 games.

Eric Brewer and Rene Bourque will be scratched against the LA Kings on Friday night.

It'll be Brewer's third straight in the stands, and has just nine games with the Ducks to his credit due to a combination of injury and ineffectiveness. Through 24 games with the Ducks and Lightning, the veteran defender has six points, 24 PIMs, and 47 hits. Bourque meanwhile has done little better in 43 combined games with the Canadiens and Ducks. He's amassed just 10 points, 18 PIMs, and 54 hits.

Eric Brewer will be out of the lineup once again Wednesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Brewer will be scratched for a second consecutive game Wednesday evening. The former fifth overall pick in the 1997 draft has seen limited game time this season as he's appeared in only 25 games. He's scored one goal and chipped in five assists to go with 24 penalty minutes and is not useful in any fantasy formats.

Eric Brewer will move back to the press box Monday night against the Red Wings.

Brewer filled in for an injured Clayton Stoner Saturday night in Edmonton but Stoner has been cleared to dress Monday, which means Brewer will be listed as a healthy scratch once again. Brewer has skated in just 25 games this season registering a goal and five assists to go with 24 penalty minutes.

With Clayton Stoner falling to a lower body injury, Eric Brewer was made a late addition to the Ducks' lineup on Saturday night against the Oilers.

Through 24 games this season, just seven of which are with the Ducks, Brewer has six points, 24 PIMs, 31 blocks, and 43 hits. Not much value there, but he's been a reliable supply of tough guy stats throughout his career, so perhaps some consistent playing time is all the veteran needs to restart.

Eric Brewer and Rene Bourque will be healthy scratches in Sunday's game against Washington.

Bourque has been scratched in three of the Ducks' last four games while Brewer will sit out his second consecutive game.

Eric Brewer and Rene Bourque are expected to be scratched against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.

Brewer performed admirably scoring two points during his first five games back from injury, but Hampus Lindholm is ready to return, meaning the veteran will take a seat. Bourque meanwhile has just two goals and eight points in 27 games this season. Neither have any fantasy value.

Eric Brewer had an assist in a 5-2 win against Nashville.

Brewer has five assists in 21 games in 2014-15. He's not expected to have much, if any, fantasy value in standard leagues for the rest of the season.

Eric Brewer will play for the first time since Dec. 1 on Tuesday.

Clayton Stoner (illness) is questionable after missing Monday's practice, creating an opening. Brewer was sidelined with a foot injury, but he was activated from the injured reserve list on Jan. 30.

Eric Brewer and Rene Bourque will be healthy scratches against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.

Coach Boudreau said Brewer will "probably" return to the Ducks' lineup Tuesday against Carolina. In 19 games, 17 with Tampa Bay, Brewer has accumulated four points, 18 PIMs, 22 blocks, and 35 hits. Bourque meanwhile has two goals and nine points in 37 games, mostly with Anaheim, this season. Neither have much fantasy value.

Eric Brewer (foot) has been removed from the injured reserve list.

Colby Robak was sent to the minors to free up a roster spot. Brewer hasn't played since Dec. 1. He has four assists in 19 games this season.
Fri, Jan 30, 2015 02:16:00 PM

Eric Brewer (broken foot) could begin skating on his own in the near future.

Brewer broke a bone in his foot on December 1 and it was thought at the time that he would be out four-six weeks, but that was optimistic. It has already been almost six weeks and while there is no timetable for his return, he is just beginning to get back on the ice. He has played in only two games for the Ducks this season as he was acquired from the Lightning after playing 17 games for Tampa Bay. His four assists in 19 games will not help your fantasy squad.
