Scott Gomez has agreed to a professional tryout agreement with AHL Hershey.
Gomez has a goal and eight points in 21 games with St. Louis this season, but that stint ended with his contract being terminated. Hershey is affiliated with the Washington Capitals. "I think it’s good," Capitals Coach Barry Trotz said. "We’re a little thin there because of the center-ice injuries and call-ups and all of those things, so Scott has been a really good pro in the league for a long time. He’s got a real high skill set. Especially at the American level, he should be able to help a [Jakub] Vrana, who should be back fairly soon here, and some of our younger people. A guy like Chandler Stephenson can learn from a Scott Gomez." Jan 14 - 12:59 PM

Scott Gomez and Robert Bortuzzo will be scratched from Tuesday's match with Arizona.

Through 18 games for the Blues thus far Gomez has put up eight points, considering he's averaged 11:45 a night that's not too shabby. Though we wouldn't recommend him for your squad. Bortuzzo meanwhile has 22 PIMs and 29 hits in 15 games, which is not good enough either.
