Karlis Skrastins was among the victims of Wednesday's tragic Russian plane crash.

Skrastins was minus-one in 13:11 minutes of ice time as he returned after a four game absence. He has little fantasy value.

The defensive defenseman has missed the last three games and will be a game-time decision. He practiced at full tilt on Wednesday so unless there is a setback, he will be in the lineup.

Skrastins' thigh was cut by a skate blade on March 19th. He received stitches, but it will take time to heal the lacerated muscle. We'll keep you posted.

Skrastins' received stitches, but doctors are concerned that his muscles might have been penetrated. His availability for Wednesday's contest is not yet known. We'll keep you posted.

Karlis Skrastins suffered an undisclosed injury in the second period and did not return.

The Stars were already shorthanded on the blueline as Niklas Grossman went down early in the first period with a lower body injury so the injury to Skrastins left the Stars with only four blueliners the rest of the game. Alex Goligoski and Stephane Robidas each played over 30 minutes for the Stars. There was no word after the game as to the severity of the undisclosed injury to Skrastins so stay tuned for further updates.

Karlis Skrastins (concussion/broken nose) returned to action on Saturday January 15.

The defensive defenseman was plus-one in 18:39 minutes of action. He has little fantasy value with five points in 41 games.

Karlis Skrastins also suffered a concussion in addition to his broken nose when he ran into teammate Matt Niskanen before the start of the third period eight days ago.

The good news for Skrastins is that he could return to the lineup as early as Saturday although he has yet to participate in a full practice with the Stars. The news on Niskanen is not as good as he had a deep cut to his hand. "Just picking up my car keys – sometimes it can smart a little bit," Niskanen said. "It's still pretty tender and sore, but I'm taking it as it comes. In probably two or three days, the cut will be completely closed I'm hoping. Then it's a matter of when I get my full strength back". Niskanen will not be back this week. Neither player has any fantasy value.

Skrastins sustained the injury during Wednesday's game against Chicago. He has five points and 26 penalty minutes in 40 games this season.

Karlis Skrastins has a broken nose and a chipped tooth as a result of Wednesday's game.

So far, the Stars haven't brought up the possibility of him having a concussion. Skrastins will miss Friday's game, but he could return on Sunday. Stay tuned.
