Eric Boulton's new contract comes with a $575,000 base salary.

Boulton will make an additional $25,000 if the Islanders reach the playoffs and earn an extra $25,000 for each playoff round win after that. He's a good source of penalty minutes when he plays, but he isn't expected to play enough to make him worth holding onto in standard leagues.
Oct 13 - 5:20 PM

Eric Boulton has inked a one-year contract with the New York Islanders.

The financial terms were not immediately available. Boulton took part in the Islanders' training camp on a tryout basis. The 39-year-old is a veteran of 648 career games and has spent the previous three seasons with the Islanders. He had two goals in 10 games in 2014-15.

Eric Boulton is sticking with the Islanders for now even though he doesn't have a contract.

Boulton attended the Islanders' training camp on a tryout basis. While he isn't part of the Islanders' opening game roster, the fact that he's still with the team suggests that the Islanders might still be considering re-signing him. Boulton, 39, had two goals in 10 games last season.
Oct 7 - 9:39 AM

Eric Boulton will be at training camp for the Islanders on a professional tryout.

He dressed in 10 games with New York during the 2014-15 season. Boulton had two goals and 30 penalty minutes during that time. If Boulton lands an NHL roster spot he can rack up PIMs, but there are better options available who will play far more regularly.
Aug 24 - 6:07 PM

Eric Boulton will watch from the press box Monday night versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After just appearing in his fifth game of the year Thursday night in Nashville, the veteran tough-guy will once again be listed as a healthy scratch Monday. He has played in just one game since December 11th and two since November 8th and it appears his NHL career is nearing its final stages.
Mar 9 - 5:24 PM

Eric Boulton (lower body) will be back in the lineup on Thursday versus Nashville.

He has appeared in just four games this season and he hasn't played since Dec. 11. Boulton was dealing with a lower-body injury at the end of January.

Eric Boulton (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve by the Islanders.

This is just an FYI as Boulton shouldn't be on your fantasy team. He has dressed in just three games this season. The move is being made to free up a spot on the roster for Josh Bailey.

Eric Boulton has sustained a lower body injury.

Islanders coach Jack Capuano described it as a tweak, so that suggests to us that Boulton's injury might not be serious. Either way, he won't play on Tuesday.

The New York Islanders locked up Eric Boulton for another season on Sunday.

He doesn't provide much more than PIM (88 in 23 games this season), so mainly a JFYI.

Eric Boulton was back in the lineup on Saturday and scored his first of the season.

Boulton is known more for his enforcer ways than scoring but he turned the tables on Saturday. Boulton was on the ice for only 7:23 minutes and this may well be his only goal of the season so enjoy it while you can.

Eric Boulton has agreed to a one-year extension with the New York Islanders.

Boulton was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He had no points and 36 penalty minutes in 15 games in 2013.

Eric Boulton and/or Matt Carkner may get to play in New York's last two games of the regular season.

The Islanders play Philadelphia Thursday and Buffalo on Friday to finish their regular-season schedule and they could use the extra muscle. However, coach Jack Capuano doesn't anticipate changing his lineup that much prior to the start of the playoffs.
