Date:

Eric Boulton (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve by the Islanders.

This is just an FYI as Boulton shouldn't be on your fantasy team. He has dressed in just three games this season. The move is being made to free up a spot on the roster for Josh Bailey.
Nov 13 - 6:55 PM

Eric Boulton has sustained a lower body injury.

Islanders coach Jack Capuano described it as a tweak, so that suggests to us that Boulton's injury might not be serious. Either way, he won't play on Tuesday.
Nov 11 - 3:01 PM

The New York Islanders locked up Eric Boulton for another season on Sunday.

He doesn't provide much more than PIM (88 in 23 games this season), so mainly a JFYI.
Mar 23 - 4:58 PM

Eric Boulton was back in the lineup on Saturday and scored his first of the season.

Boulton is known more for his enforcer ways than scoring but he turned the tables on Saturday. Boulton was on the ice for only 7:23 minutes and this may well be his only goal of the season so enjoy it while you can.

Eric Boulton and/or Matt Carkner may get to play in New York's last two games of the regular season.

The Islanders play Philadelphia Thursday and Buffalo on Friday to finish their regular-season schedule and they could use the extra muscle. However, coach Jack Capuano doesn't anticipate changing his lineup that much prior to the start of the playoffs.

Eric Boulton has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Islanders.

In 51 games with the New Jersey Devils, Boulton generated no points and 115 penalty minutes. He is excited to be joining a "promising young team" like the Islanders, where he will probably be assigned the role of protector.

Eric Boulton is on unconditional waivers.

Boulton will probably be bought out if he clears waivers. He would have made $750,000 in 2012-13.

We'll find out shortly if another team wants Boulton. However, he will play in Monday's game if he's still a part of the Devils' organization when the puck drops.

Eric Boulton was surprised when the Devils informed him that he would be placed on waivers.

"I feel like I’m a big part of this team on the ice and in the locker room," Boulton said. "I think all the players know that and I think I definitely contribute." Teams have until noon on Monday to claim him. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that he wanted to preserve the option of sending him to the AHL, if he's not getting sufficient ice time. Players who are inked to one-way contracts have to clear waivers before the trade deadline in order to be sent to the minors after the deadline.

Eric Boulton is on the waiver wire.

Boulton has no points and 76 penalty minutes in 36 games this season. He doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues and we don't think that will change.

Eric Boulton sustained cuts above and below his left eye during Friday's game that required seven or eight stitches to close.

Boulton got the cuts during his fight with Anaheim's George Parros and, not realizing that he was bleeding, was initially upset when the linesmen broke up the fight. "I wanted to keep going," Boulton said. "I wasn’t hurt. I didn’t feel the blood until (the linesmen) started coming in and then I felt it trickle down. I don’t know what the rules are. The linesmen are doing their job trying to protect the players. It was the heat of the moment, so I was a little ticked off that I didn’t get a chance to get back at him, but they’re just doing their job." He isn't expected to miss any playing time.

He didn't receive a penalty on the play for the incident in question, but his wallet has taken a hit now. Boulton has no points and 60 PIMs in 27 games this season.
