Brian Boucher turned aside 25 of 28 shots in a 4-1 defeat on Saturday.

It was Boucher's first start of the season. Look for the Flyers to go back to Ilya Bryzgalov on Monday.
Feb 16 - 10:11 PM

Brian Boucher will play between the pipes on Saturday.

It looks like the Philadelphia Flyers will give Ilya Bryzgalov a day off after he allowed four goals on 18 shots on Friday. Boucher has only logged 34 minutes of playing time in 2013.
Feb 16 - 5:16 PM

There is a strong possibility that Brian Boucher will get the start against Montreal Saturday night.

Ilya Bryzgalov was the loser in a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Devils Friday night and could use the day off.
Feb 16 - 12:15 PM

Updating a previous post, Brian Boucher won't start in net Tuesday after all.

Ilya Bryzgalov, who was pulled during the second period Monday, will start instead. Boucher had been reported as the likely starter earlier Tuesday after Bryzgalov allowed four goals in 26 minutes Monday. Boucher will back up Bryzgalov until Michael Leighton is healthy.
Feb 12 - 6:07 PM

Brian Boucher is expected to get the start in goal Tuesday night.

The Flyers are giving Ilya Brygalov a night off after their top goalie surrendered four goals in 26 minutes before being pulled in favor of Boucher on Monday night. Bryzgalov owners in daily leagues will want to rest him if they can. Boucher is only up with the Flyers because of an injury to Michael Leighton and only has value if Bryzgalov were to suffer an injury.
Feb 12 - 5:01 PM

Michael Leighton is injured, so the Philadelphia Flyers recalled Brian Boucher on Sunday.

He'll back up Ilya Bryzgalov, and if this season's patterns are any indication, Boucher won't see a ton of time. He's not worth an add unless Breezy gets banged up or falters, and even then, it would likely just be a short-term thing.
Feb 10 - 2:18 PM

Philadelphia has placed Brian Boucher on waivers.

Boucher was acquired from Carolina on Sunday and he will probably head down to AHL Adirondack. With him gone the Flyers appear to be set to use Michael Leighton as their backup.
Jan 16 - 4:45 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly acquired goaltender Brian Boucher from the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes also send defenseman Mark Alt to Philadelphia in exchange for forward Luke Pither. This will be Boucher's fourth stint with the organization and he should serve as the backup to starter Ilya Bryzgalov .
Jan 13 - 9:57 AM

Brian Boucher (shoulder) has been skating with some of the locked-out Flyers players.

Boucher has surgery over the summer and was expected to return from his injury in November or December. Obviously that timetable ended up being moot due to the lockout.
Jan 4 - 8:08 AM

Brian Boucher is expected to be sidelined for four to six months because he needs to undergo shoulder surgery.

"It's certainly a setback for us," Carolina GM Jim Rutherford said. "We will have to deal with it as we go along." The Hurricanes may explore their options in free agency to find a backup for Cam Ward going into next year. Boucher appeared in just 10 games last season after a severe groin injury in early December kept him on the shelf until March.

Brian Boucher surrendered 3 goals on 25 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.

Boucher was given the start in the final game of the season for the Hurricanes, who rested star goalie Cam Ward. Ward recently hit the 30-win mark and with the Hurricanes out of contention was given a night off.

Brian Boucher will start in Saturday's game.

Fri, Apr 6, 2012 01:20:00 PM

Brian Boucher allowed 5 goals on 31 shots in a 5-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.

With the Carolina Hurricanes on the outside of the playoff picture Brian Boucher earned a rare start. Tonight was only the 9th time Boucher has started for the Hurricanes. If you are desperate for goalie wins you might be better suited looking elsewhere, as Boucher has only 1 win on the season.
