Michal Rozsival had successful ankle surgery.
Rozsival suffered a fractured left ankle in Game 4 of Chicago's second round series against Minnesota. He's expected to make a full recovery in 12-16 weeks. In other words, he's likely done for the rest of the playoffs, but should be fine for the start of the 2015-16 campaign. May 12 - 2:39 PM

Michal Rozsival needs surgery to repair a fractured left ankle.

Rozsival is not expected to play again in the 2015 postseason. This is unfortunately not surprising news as the injury looked gruesome when it happened in the second period of Thursday's game. He needed help getting off the ice as he could not put any weight on the ankle. Chicago will need to adjust defensively as a result and that might lead to Kimmo Timonen taking on more responsibilities.

It unfortunately wouldn't be surprising if Michal Rozsival's suspected ankle injury proves to be serious.

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville gave a grim, albeit brief, assessment of Rozsival condition after Thursday's game when he said it "doesn't look good." This is the playoffs so teams will typically be brief about injury information and on top of that it's possible that Rozsival was still being evaluated when Quenneville spoke to the media, but Rozsival's ankle looked like it bent in a very bad way as he fell during the second period of Thursday's contest. Rozsival didn't put any weight on that leg as he was helped off the ice and he didn't return.

May 8 - 10:09 AM

Michal Rozsival left Thursday's Game Four tilt with Minnesota after suffering a gruesome ankle injury early on in the second period. He will not return.

The official word from the Blackhawks is a lower body injury, but it was Rozsival's left ankle that gave-way as he tried to transition from skating backwards to forwards. He did not factor onto the score sheet during his 7:16 of work. There is no time table for his return, but it doesn't look near either.
May 7 - 11:50 PM

Michal Rozsival will return to the Chicago Blackhawks' blue line Sunday night against the St. Louis Blues.

Rozsival was a healthy scratch on Friday night. Through 61 games this season he's posted 11 points, 20 PIMs, 85 blocks, and 97 hits. Not bad for the veteran seeing primarily third pair minutes.
Apr 5 - 6:30 PM

Michal Rozsival will remain in the Blackhawks lineup Monday night against the Kings.

Rozsival has dressed in 59 games this season but has recently found himself in and out of the lineup. He'll get to dress Monday night versus the Kings while David Rundblad will watch from the press box. Rozsival has a goal and 10 assists with 97 hits and 79 blocked shots this year.
Mar 30 - 6:58 PM

Michal Rozsival will be scratched against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

While Rozsival may no long have much fantasy value, he's still put up a nice season considering he's seen mostly third pairing minutes. Through 58 games this season he has a goal, 11 points, 79 blocks, and 97 hits.

Mar 27 - 6:57 PM

Michal Rozsival has played much more regularly this season after serving as a platoon player in his previous two seasons with the Blackhawks.

He has skated in 56 games after dressing in 69 matches over the past two campaigns. "He gives you very competitive minutes and, defensively, offensively, he plays the right way," coach Joel Quenneville said. "He enhances our team game, our puck-possession game and moves the puck quickly." Rozsival should continue to play often down the stretch and during the playoffs in what will probably be his final year with Chicago.
Mar 23 - 1:25 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks appear to be making a minor change to their defense, moving Michal Rozsival in for David Rundblad.

Rozsival, 36, has 11 points and 18 PIM in 55 games so far in 2014-15. This is probably more of a note for Daily Fantasy purposes than for relevant fantasy leagues, but either way, JFYI.
Mar 21 - 1:26 PM

Defenseman Michal Rozsival and forward Daniel Carcillo will both be healthy scratches Wednesday night versus the Rangers.

Rozsival will be replaced by David Rundblad Wednesday night and has a goal and 10 assists in 55 games in the 2014-2015 season. Carcillo hasn’t seen game action since March 8th, a span of four games. When he’s in the lineup, Carcillo does carry some fantasy value for those in PIM leagues as he has four goals and eight points with 49 PIMs in 38 games played.
Mar 18 - 8:10 PM

Michal Rozsival will draw back into the lineup Monday night versus the Hurricanes.

Rozsival was scratched the previous two games but with Johnny Oduya not able to play, Rozsival will get back out there Monday night. However, with the Hawks acquisition of Kimmo Timonen, things don’t appear to be looking better for Rozsival to stay in the lineup once Oduya returns. He has a goal and seven assists in 49 games played in the 2014-2015 season.
Mar 2 - 8:15 PM

Michal Rozsival was on the ice for Saturday morning's optional skate.

He missed Friday's game with an upper-body injury but is showing at least a little progress in his recovery. Rozsival was once fantasy relevant, but those days are long over.
Feb 14 - 12:50 PM

Michal Rozsival will miss Friday's game due to an upper-body injury.

Rozsival should be fine for Sunday's contest though. With Rozsival out, it looks like Kyle Cumiskey will be inserted into the lineup for Friday's contest. Rozsival has a goal and seven points in 44 contests this season.
Feb 13 - 1:04 PM

Michal Rozsival has recovered from a lower-body injury.

Rozsival is expected to play in the Winter Classic on Thursday. He missed two contests due to the ailment. Tim Erixon will probably be listed as a healthy scratch to make room for Rozsival.
Wed, Dec 31, 2014 05:13:00 PM

Michal Rozsival will likely play in the Winter Classic against the Washington Capitals on Thursday, according to coach Joel Quenneville.

He has missed Chicago's past two games because of a lower-body injury.
