Michal Rozsival is dealing with an upper body injury.

Rozsival will consequently miss Friday's game against Nashville. He's considered day-to-day beyond that.
Apr 19 - 12:45 PM

Michal Rozsival has four assists in his last five games.

Rozsival is having a surprisingly good fantasy season when he is in the lineup as he has 11 assists in 22 games with a plus-17 rating, stats he hasn't seen fantasy-wise since the 2006-07 season. He may be worth activating in deeper pools if you do not have the need for goals at this stage of the season.
Apr 9 - 7:32 AM

Michal Rozsival doesn't have a goal in regulation time this season, but he netted the game-winner in Monday's shootout against Nashville.

"Everyone was saying, ‘Put him in, put him in,’ the last few games," Patrick Kane said. "He’s one of those guys in practice who seems to score every time on the move he pulled out there." This was Rozsival's fifth career shootout attempt and first shootout goal. Maybe his success on Monday will motivate him to score his first regulation goal in over a year.

Michal Rozsival and Brandon Bollig are both healthy scratches Friday night.

Rozsival has generally been a solid player for Chicago this season, with eight assists and a plus-14 rating while averaging 17:15 minutes per night in 18 games. Bollig is pointless in 17 games this season, playing about seven minutes a tilt.
Mar 29 - 8:36 PM

He is 34, in his 12th NHL season, yet the Chicago Blackhawks feel they hit the jackpot when they signed Michal Rozsival as a free agent before this season.

Rozsival has seven assists in only 16 games, has a whopping plus-14 rating — only Jonathan Toews, at plus-17, is higher with the Hawks — and has formed a nice third blue-line tandem with Nick Leddy while sharing time with the more physically oriented Sheldon Brookbank. Rozsival was signed for his defensive skills more than for offense. But freed from the shackles of the Phoenix Coyotes’ defensive-minded system, he has turned back the clock and looked like the more offensively gifted player he was with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers. ‘‘The way this team is playing, it’s pretty much offensive-minded throughout the lineup,’’ Rozsival said. ‘‘I don’t think anybody would be happy if I was just dumping the pucks off the glass on this team, so I’m trying to do my best. I knew I was able to play offense.’’ ‘‘His patience with the puck, the level that he’s played with the puck, is one thing maybe I undervalued,’’ Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said.

Michal Rozsival (lower body) returned to action on Sunday.

Rozsival missed eight games with the injury and came back with a very good game as he assisted once and was a plus-two in 16:59 minutes of action. He now has three assists in four games and is worth a look-see in deeper pools.

Michal Rozsival skated Wednesday and is closing in on a return to the lineup.

He sustained a lower-body injury Jan. 24 and continues to work his way back into the lineup. "I'm glad to be back on the ice and looking forward to getting some games going," said Rozsival. "Hopefully I'll be back in a game soon. It's nothing serious."
Jan 30 - 9:11 PM

Michal Rozsival missed practice Tuesday with a lower-body injury.

Coach Joel Quenneville says he expects Rosy to skate Wednesday, so we wouldn't worry too much about him missing an extended period of time. That said, he's of no real use for fantasy purposes so this is more of an FYI.
Jan 29 - 1:44 PM

It looks like Michal Rozsival will skate in place of Sheldon Brookbank tonight.

Neither player is of much for fantasy owners, with Rozsival's value having passed him by long ago.

Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask signed with the same club on Monday. Rozsival signed with the Blackhawks two weeks ago, but his Chicago debut will be put on hold due to the lockout.

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed free agent defenseman Michal Rozsival to a one-year contract.

Phoenix GM said that Michal Rozsival is on crutches, but there doesn't appear to be any stuctural damage to his knee.

Rozsival wasn't able to put any weight on it after his knee collided with Dustin Brown's in overtime during Game 5 on Tuesday night. He left the ice with assistance and the Kings scored the game-winning goal the next shift to eliminate the Coyotes from postseason play.
