Francis Bouillon is still skating with the Canadiens at camp and he may earn a roster spot because Jarred Tinordi has struggled.

"I know exactly what we get from (Bouillon)," coach Michel Therrien said. "He's a good person, a good defenseman. We're not evaluating Francis Bouillon, we're evaluating the young defensemen to see if they can play in the NHL." Bouillon is attending camp on a tryout basis, so he's on shaky ground but he's hanging around.
Oct 3 - 8:57 AM

Francis Bouillon will attend Montreal's training camp on a tryout basis.

The Canadiens are looking for Jared Tinordi, Nathan Beaulieu and/or Greg Pateryn to earn full-time NHL roles this season, but Bouillon will be around to act as insurance. He skated in 52 regular season games and nine playoff matches with Montreal last year prior to becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Sep 18 - 10:08 AM

Francis Bouillon is eligible for unrestricted free agency on July 1.

The 38-year-old defenseman said he isn't ready to retire yet, so he'll probably be looking for employment elsewhere in a couple of months. Bouillon skated in 52 games with the Canadiens during the regular season and he appeared in nine playoff matches.
May 31 - 1:38 PM

Francis Bouillon found the back of the net during Montreal's 3-2 overtime loss to the New York Rangers in Game 4.

He was appearing in his first contest since Game 2 against Boston. The goal was his second of the postseason and it could keep him in the lineup for Game 5 on Tuesday night. Bouillon finished the match with 12:23 of ice time.
May 26 - 10:33 AM

As some anticipated, it looks like Francis Bouillon will replace Nathan Beaulieu in the Montreal Canadiens' lineup against the New York Rangers in Game 4 on Sunday.

This isn't a move that should have been fantasy implications, although Bouillon enters a series where the Rangers have dominated many stretches. He'll need to be up to speed right away.
May 25 - 1:42 PM

Francis Bouillon might be in the lineup for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final on Sunday.

He practiced with Mike Weaver Saturday, which could mean that Nathan Beaulieu will take a seat in the press box. Bouillon hasn't played since Game 2 of the second round versus Boston.
May 24 - 2:29 PM

Francis Bouillon was a healthy scratch for the Canadiens again in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.

He hasn't played since Game 2 against Boston, as Montreal went with Doug Murray for a little instead before switching to youngster Nathan Beaulieu recently. Bouillon has one goal and a plus-4 rating in six playoff appearances.
May 20 - 8:04 AM

Francis Bouillon was a healthy scratch in Game 3.

The Canadiens opted to go with big blueliner Doug Murray in his place. Bouillon has one goal and a plus-4 rating in six playoff games, but he had a minus-2 rating and was limited to 9:18 of ice time in Game 2's 5-3 loss.
May 7 - 7:14 AM

Francis Bouillon found the back of the net in Thursday's double overtime victory over Boston.

The Canadiens took a 1-0 lead in the series even though it wasn't Bouillon's tally that held up as the game winner. He scored at the 12:09 mark of the third period, but the Bruins fought back to tie the game in the final two minutes of regulation. The undersized, tenacious blueliner has five hits, five blocks and a plus-6 rating in five playoff contests.
May 2 - 8:04 AM

Francis Bouillon enjoyed the rare experience of scoring a goal for the Canadiens in a 3-2 overtime loss to Chicago Wednesday night.

Bouillon is not exactly known for his goal-scoring prowess, as this tally was just his second of the campaign. In his career he has notched just 32 markers despite having suited up for 775 career games. Dale Weise also scored a goal for Montreal in the defeat.
Apr 9 - 10:27 PM

Francis Bouillon is slated to return from the press box on Wednesday night.

Feb 8 - 3:00 PM

Francis Bouillon will return to the Canadiens' lineup Sarturday night against Pittsburgh.

He was a healthy scratch Friday night as the Habs have seven NHL caliber defencemen with the return to action of Alexei Emelin. No word on who will be scratched Saturday to allow Bouillon to suit up.

Bouillon isn't being punished. Montreal will play in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday and Canadiens coach Michel Therrien doesn't want to wear the 38-year-old defenseman out.
