Brenden Morrow (back) took part in Thursday's morning skate.

"I had a good day," Morrow said. "It was frustrating the last couple of days. You feel lazy while the rest of the team is out there working and playing, and you are not out there with them. Brenden Morrow is excited to be a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

"They're hungry and growing into their own," he said shortly after signing a one-year deal worth $1.55 million. "I want to be a part of that." Tampa Bay GM Steve Yzerman said the team was eager to add Morrow because of his experience. "He does all the little things in a game that help teams win," Yzerman said. "He plays hard. He's physical. He's strong." The 35-year-old winger is unlikely to make an impact offensively with the Bolts, but his leadership could be very helpful to a young and emerging roster.
