G Ben Scrivens - Maple Leafs
You might want to act quickly in snatching up Scrivens if you are in need of goaltending help.  He’s already owned in 51 percent of Yahoo! leagues and has filled in admirably with James Reimer on the shelf due to injury.  He has posted three wins, including two shutouts, and two losses during Reimer's absence heading into Saturday's action.  His 2.30 GAA and .931 save percentage are also impressive peripheral stats.

Abbott's Waiver Wired column
C Jonathan Huberdeau - Panthers
Huberdeau, who was the third overall pick in the 2011 draft, looked great Thursday when he enjoyed a four-point night against Philadelphia. He's been dangerous since being placed on Florida's "Kid Line" with Peter Mueller and Drew Shore.  He leads all rookies with eight goals and is second among first-year players with 13 points in 17 games.  Huberdeau is owned in just 41 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Abbott's Waiver Wired column
C/LW Brayden Schenn - Flyers
Schenn has picked up his game offensively after a sluggish start by recording four goals and eight assists in 12 games during the month of February.  His recent outburst has raised his ownership to 40 percent among Yahoo! poolies.  With Matt Read sidelined for the next six weeks, he should maintain his top-six spot when Scott Hartnell returns in the near future from a broken foot.  Schenn has been playing alongside Daniel Briere and Wayne Simmonds of late.

Abbott's Waiver Wired column
LW Benoit Pouliot - Lightning
Pouliot saw most of his action last season with Boston as a third liner, but with the Lightning he's  logging minutes as a top-six winger.  He's currently lining up with Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis, but he has seen action alongside Steve Stamkos as well.  He has picked up two goals and five helpers in his past five games, along with eight shots.  He has accounted for 13 points in 16 outings this year and should be available since he's owned in just 15 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Abbott's Waiver Wired column
D Cody Franson - Maple Leafs
Franson had a tough time staying in Toronto's lineup last year and early on it looked like he would have the same problem this season.  However, something clicked for him and now he helps quarterback the team's top power-play unit and has 11 points in 15 games to go with an impressive plus-11 rating.  He's been a popular addition on the waiver wire of late and is presently owned in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
C/LW Jiri Tlusty - Hurricanes
Tlusty, who is owned in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, had a great deal of chemistry with Eric Staal last season and he's played well since being reunited with Staal and Alexander Semin this year as well.  He has tallied seven goals and four assists in 10 February contests after going pointless in five January games.  He also has a plus-11 rating and 37 shots to his credit.
LW Brandon Prust - Canadiens
Prust leads the league with 71 penalty minutes in 17 games so far this season.  He has also chipped in two goals and three assists while seeing most of his ice time with Montreal rookie Alex Galchenyuk.  Prust has six major penalties and two misconducts, which could be of service to any fantasy GM looking to bolster their minutes in the sin bin.  He's available in 81 percent of Yahoo! leagues and should be started if penalty minutes are a valued commodity.
D John Carlson - Capitals
Carlson had a slow start to the 2013 season, but he's woken up a bit in February with two goals and five points in nine matches.  The Washington defender plays over 23 minutes of ice time per game and he's not shy about trying to get involved offensively with 39 shots in 16 games.  Carlson also has 22 hits and 45 blocked shots to help round out his defensive picture.  He's owned in 44 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so chances are he's obtainable.
RW Jakob Silfverberg - Senators
Silfverberg has started to pick up his play recently with a goal and two assists in his past three games entering Saturday's matchups.  He also fired a whopping eight shots on goal Thursday night to give him a total of 50 on the year.  Playing on the top line with Daniel Alfredsson and Kyle Turris should help him out as well, but his issues with consistency may make him worthy only of a brief flyer, at this time.
D Tyson Barrie - Avalanche
In eight games with Colorado this campaign, Barrie has produced one goal and three assists.  He has also been used on the club's top power-play unit, which has helped him earn just over 20 minutes of ice time per contest.  The 21-year-old blueliner is definitely worth watching and if the pickings are especially slim he may be worth rolling the dice on now.
