Alberto Callaspo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the Angels' win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
Callaspo scored twice and drove in two runs, and he's now got a .277/.330/.415 line. Against the odds, he's been one of the Angels' better hitters thus far, and he's been finding his way into the lineup more often in recent weeks.

Angels activated 3B Alberto Callaspo from the 15-day disabled list.
Callaspo went 2-for-7 with a home run and three RBI during a three-game rehab assignment with High-A Inland Empire and will return to action Friday against the Orioles. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since April 11 due to right calf tightness. The Angels optioned infielder Andrew Romine to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding roster move.

Assuming it goes well, Callaspo should be activated prior to Friday's game. He's been out since mid-April with right calf tightness.

Peter Bourjos (hamstring) has begun light jogging and batting practice.
Bourjos is increasing the pace of his workouts daily. He's likely to need a few minor league rehab games before returning to the Angels' lineup, but it looks likely that he'll return in early June. Hamstring injuries can tend to linger and pose a high re-injury risk however, so play it cautiously when re-inserting the speedy outfielder into your fantasy lineups.

Weaver, on the disabled list since April 9, will throw a bullpen session Sunday before he's cleared to rejoin the Angels. The Los Angeles Times expects Joe Blanton to lose his rotation spot when Weaver returns.

Ryan Madson has experienced yet another setback in his recovery from Tommy John elbow surgery.
Madson felt renewed soreness in his right arm while trying to throw this week and has been shut down indefinitely. There is no longer a timetable for his return and he can be dropped in most fantasy formats at this point. Ernesto Frieri is the Angels' ninth-inning man.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Kevin Jepsen (triceps) is "close" to rejoining the bullpen.
Jepsen, who has been out since mid-April with a triceps ailment, will make a third rehab appearance this week, but it sounds like it could be his final one. He'll return to middle relief for the Halos.

Angels transferred LHP Andrew Taylor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Taylor was diagnosed with a small tear in his labrum last month. While he won't need surgery, it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. The 26-year-old posted a 4.27 ERA and 56/25 K/BB ratio over 59 innings between Double- and Triple-A last year.
