Dustin Pedroia went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's win against the Orioles.
It was Pedroia's 10th steal of the season, which ranks ninth in the American League. As usual, he's helping fantasy owners with batting average (.319, seventh in the AL) and runs (46, fifth). Pedroia is off his usual pace of about 15 homers per season -- he has just four in 273 at-bats -- but has otherwise been outstanding.

Dustin Pedroia went 1-for-3 with a home run but the Red Sox lost to the Rangers on Wednesday.
Despite hitting .330, the homer was just Pedroia's fourth of the season and his first since May 27. The torn ligament in his left thumb surely has something to do with his power outage, but he's tough enough that he'll continue to play despite the injury. While the power numbers might dip as a result, Pedroia will continue to fill the rest of the box score on most nights.

Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's loss to the Yankees.
It was revealed earlier this week that Pedroia is playing through a torn ligament in his left thumb, but you wouldn't know it by his production at the plate. After Friday's three-hit performance, he ranks third in the American League with a .336 batting average.

Buchholz was able to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday, but evidently he's still not feeling well enough to make his start on Saturday. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be out. The Red Sox are expected to call up Allen Webster to start over the weekend.

Joel Hanrahan was upbeat Friday after he required Tommy John surgery in addition to flexor tendon surgery on Thursday.
Hanrahan will be in a cast for ten days, but will start the rehab process shortly thereafter. Either way, he's looking at a 12-to-14 month timetable for his return. Hanrahan, who is a free agent after the season, is a long way away from having any tangible fantasy value.

Mortensen has been battling the injury since April and finally agreed to take a few weeks off. The right-hander has posted a 5.34 ERA in 30 1/3 innings this year.
