Dustin Pedroia went 2-for-5 with a double in the Red Sox' victory over the Rays on Wednesday.
The second baseman drove in the first run in Boston's eight-run third inning and later contributed his 10th double of the year. Pedroia is now hitting a ridiculous .340 and seems poised to make people forget about his down 2012 season. He's not Robinson Cano, but there are few better options at the keystone these days.

Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-5 with two runs scored Wednesday, but the Red Sox lost to the Twins.
Pedroia couldn't save the Sox on Wednesday, but the second baseman raised his average to .311 with the three-hit night. The home runs are still missing, but he's proven to be good for somewhere in the mid-to-high teens in the past. Every other facet of his game is clicking right now, so don't get too worried about the power stroke.

Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored Friday against the Astros.
Pedroia had two doubles on the night. This was his ninth multi-hit game of the season and his second three-hit game. The 29-year-old is hitting a ton of ground balls early on, but his track record suggests that the power should come eventually.

Red Sox manager John Farrell confirmed during an appearance on WEEI that Dustin Pedroia is in Wednesday's lineup against the Yankees.
Pedroia hurt his hand during a head-first slide in Monday's season opener, but he was cleared to play after being examined by team doctors. It shouldn't be a cause for concern for fantasy owners at the moment.

Franklin Morales (back, pectoral) is expected to make at least two more rehab starts before being activated from the disabled list.
Morales threw three innings in his last outing and will stretch it out to four innings Saturday. The lefty would have been activated by now had the Red Sox wanted him as a reliever, but they're stretching him out as a starter in case he's needed in that role. "Well, he'll likely get to four innings [on Saturday], and if we don't change course with his role, we'd like to get him to a minimum of five before we'd look to do something back here," manager John Farrell said.

Andrew Bailey (biceps) threw a 15-pitch simulated inning on Thursday afternoon at Tropicana Field.
Bailey induced fly ball outs from each of the three batters he faced and then worked on his throws to first base for a few minutes. The right-hander is expected to make a rehab appearance on Saturday at Triple-A Pawtucket before rejoining the Red Sox bullpen on Monday. He will take back Boston's ninth-inning gig once he is activated.

Joel Hanrahan was upbeat Friday after he required Tommy John surgery in addition to flexor tendon surgery on Thursday.
Hanrahan will be in a cast for ten days, but will start the rehab process shortly thereafter. Either way, he's looking at a 12-to-14 month timetable for his return. Hanrahan, who is a free agent after the season, is a long way away from having any tangible fantasy value.
