Lance Berkman is out of the Rangers' lineup for the second straight day Monday.
No word on the exact reason for his absence, though Berkman has been ice-cold for most of the month. Getting a couple of days off could be beneficial for the veteran slugger. Jurickson Profar will serve as the DH and bat leadoff Monday.

Lance Berkman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer off Nick Hagadone to lead the Rangers to a 6-3 win over the Indians on Monday.
Berkman had just one RBI since May 24 before giving the Rangers the lead tonight. His numbers have steadily declined since April, but he is due to heat back up soon. Maybe this will get him started.

It's just a day off for "Puma." The Rangers are using Adrian Beltre in the DH spot Sunday, with Leury Garcia getting the start at the hot corner.

Lance Berkman went 0-for-3 with a walk in Thursday's win against the Tigers.
Rather quietly, Big Puma is getting on base just like he did in his heyday (.414 OBP). Over the last two years (238 plate appearances), however, Berkman has just five home runs. Fantasy owners are certainly hoping for more, and Berkman may just oblige over a scorching summer in Texas. It's equally likely that Fat Elvis' prestigious power is a thing of the past. He's stayed in the league as a 37-year-old designated hitter by not selling out walks (second in the AL, currently) for monster fence-targeting swings.

Moreland was cleared after running the bases on Sunday with no issues. He'll play at Frisco for three games before being activated on Friday, the first day he's eligible. The first baseman has been out since June 6 with a right hamstring strain.

Rangers placed OF Jeff Baker on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb.
The move is retroactive to June 13, so Baker will be allowed to return in less than 15 days if he's feeling well enough. He suffered the right thumb sprain last week while trying to give a high-five to a teammate.

Matt Harrison played catch Monday for the first time since his back surgery.
Good news, but Harrison will be restricted to flat ground work for another 4-6 weeks before getting back on a mound. Even then, he'll likely need another month to build up his workload. The southpaw isn't expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation until September, though he could provide a nice boost down the stretch.

Ogando still has some soreness in his right shoulder, and the Rangers aren't going to let him thrown from the mound until he's completely pain-free. He'll need to go out on a rehab assignment after throwing off a mound at least a couple times, so the right-hander isn't close to returning.

It's the first time he's done so since he was shut down after feeling soreness in the back of his right elbow. Lewis will likely need several more mound sessions before facing hitters, so he's not close to resuming his rehab assignment.

Soria has thrown multiple bullpen sessions and rounds of live batting practice this month, reporting no issues with his surgically-repaired elbow. He could join the Rangers' bullpen by the end of this month.
