Carlos Zambrano struck out six over seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Big Z permitted five hits and walked one. The veteran righty now holds a 0.95 ERA over five starts in the minors and could be added to the Phillies' rotation this weekend. Jonathan Pettibone would lose his rotation spot if Zambrano is called up.

Carlos Zambrano's start with Double-A Reading on Friday was rained out.
Big Z had 10 1/3 scoreless innings over his first two starts with High-A Clearweater and was slated to move up to Double-A on Friday. However, he'll now be pushed back to Saturday. The veteran right-hander could soon join the Phillies' starting rotation.

Big Z tossed six scoreless innings in his second start with High-A Clearwater on Sunday. He's now been unscored upon in 10 1/3 minor league innings and could possibly be added to the Phillies' rotation if Friday's outing goes well.

Carlos Zambrano threw six scoreless innings in his start Sunday with High-A Clearwater.
According to MLB.com's Adam Berry, Zambrano showed good command and touched 90 mph with his sinker. He's expected to make at least one more start before the Phillies consider him for a promotion. Zambrano can opt out of his minor league deal on July 1 if he hasn’t been added to the 25-man roster.

Kratz is expected to be out for the next 6-8 weeks. Humberto Quintero and Steven Lerud will serve as the Phillies' catchers until Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) is healthy.

Utley took batting practice with his Phillies teammates on Friday and Saturday at Coors Field, reporting no issues with his right oblique. If he indeed starts playing in rehab games Tuesday, he should be back on Philadelphia's active 25-man roster by the end of this week.

The move clears a spot for Michael Martinez on the 40-man roster. It won't have any impact on Halladay's timeline, as he had shoulder surgery earlier this month and is unlikely to make it back until late August at the earliest.

Horst was excellent for the Phillies in 2012 but has struggled to the tune of a 6.23 ERA here in 2013. He's going to have his elbow checked out by a specialist.
