Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Carl Crawford's left hamstring strain is "fairly significant" and the outfielder will be out longer than 15 days.
Mattingly had said previously that he didn't think Crawford would miss as much as a month, so we're probably looking at around a three-week absence. Scott Van Slyke will continue seeing the bulk of the playing time in left field while Crawford is out.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he didn't think Carl Crawford (hamstring) would be sidelined as long as Hanley Ramirez has been.
Hanley has missed four weeks with his hamstring injury but is expected back on Tuesday. The Dodgers initially thought Crawford would only need a few days of rest, but after seeing his MRI results they knew he would need a couple weeks of downtime. He'll likely be back in late June.
Jun 3 - 7:51 PM

Dodgers placed OF Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 2, with a strained left hamstring.
The team had been hopeful that Crawford was dealing with a cramp, not a strain, but evidently that's not the case. It's disappointing news but probably for the best that he's shut down for a couple weeks. Scott Van Slyke is starting in left field Monday and should see the bulk of the time there while Crawford is out.
Jun 3 - 6:40 PM
Dodgers GM Ned Colletti said he believes Carl Crawford suffered a hamstring cramp, not a strain, when he was forced to leave Saturday's game.
That'd be great news; while a strain would practically guarantee a DL trip, he could return in a day or two if it's only a cramp. The Dodgers will know more after the game.

Scott Van Slyke
D.L.
Dodgers placed OF Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder bursitis.
Van Slyke initially suffered the injury in late May but had been playing through it. It's poor timing for Van Slyke, as he had been slated to receive regular at-bats while Carl Crawford and Matt Kemp were out. It's not clear how long he'll be sidelined.

D.L.
Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said on SiriusXM's MLB Network Radio on Tuesday that Matt Kemp (hamstring) is currently running at "75 percent without pain."
Kemp is making progress, but there's no timetable for him to begin a rehab assignment. The Dodgers have already ruled out his return until at least June 24, but it sounds like it will come later than that.

Josh Beckett said he'll undergo season-ending surgery if rest and rehab for a nerve issue in his pitching arm doesn't work.
The right-hander noted that he's "absolutely" confident he'll pitch this season, but there's a level of uncertainty involved. He'll be shut down for the next four weeks before trying to throw again. If Beckett does ultimately need an operation, he expects to be ready for next season.

Chad Billingsley
D.L.
Dodgers transferred RHP Chad Billingsley from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for Scott Van Slyke on the 40-man roster. Billingsley had season-ending Tommy John surgery last month and will likely miss the early part of 2014.

Chris Capuano (lat) threw four scoreless innings in his first rehab start Friday with Triple-A Albuquerque.
He allowed one hit, no walks, and had five strikeouts. Capuano, currently on the DL with a left lat strain, is expected to rejoin the Dodgers' rotation on June 19 against the Yankees.
Jun 15
7
Ted Lilly
D.L.
Ted Lilly received an epidural in his ailing neck on Tuesday.
The Dodgers are hoping it will allow Lilly to recover from his neck sprain a little faster. At this point, the left-hander has no timetable for a return.
