Freddy Sanchez told CSNBayArea.com that he has no plans of retirement and is hoping to sign with a team in spring training.
Sanchez's "dream situation" would be to re-sign with the Giants. Despite missing all of 2012 due to shoulder and back surgeries, he's still holding out for a guaranteed contract. But the 35-year-old may ultimately have to settle for a non-guaranteed minor league deal.

Freddy Sanchez's agent, Paul Cobbe, has told ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick that "about 20 teams" have asked for the second baseman's medical records.
Cobbe contends that his client is healthy and ready to contribute in 2013. Sanchez missed all of 2012 due to shoulder and back surgeries, but he was able to play in several instructional league games as a DH towards the end of the season. He's a huge health risk for the upcoming campaign but could be worth a shot on a non-guaranteed deal.

According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, free agent second baseman Freddy Sanchez has received interest from multiple teams this offseason.
It's not clear if the Cardinals are one of the teams that have considered signing him. Sanchez missed all of the 2012 season due to injuries and will likely have to reestablish his value on a minor league contract.

Vogelsong was hit by a pitch while swinging the bat in the fifth inning Tuesday and suffered fractures above and below the top knuckle in his pinkie. He's expected to undergo surgery Tuesday and will likely miss around six weeks. Chad Gaudin is the most likely replacement for the rotation, though the Giants could call up Michael Kickham from Triple-A.
