Marlins signed C Miguel Olivo.

Olivo was released earlier Thursday by the Reds after he failed to crack their Opening Day roster, but he landed on his feet quickly as the backup in Miami behind Rob Brantly, at least until Jeff Mathis returns. The Marlins signed him to a 45-day waiver, so he can be released during that time period without being owed the remainder of his $800,000 salary. Olivo batted .222/.239/.381 with 12 home runs and 29 RBI in 87 games for the Mariners last season. Mar 28 - 6:06 PM

1B	1	Logan Morrison D.L. Logan Morrison (knee) will shift his rehab assignment to Double-A Jacksonville on Monday. Morrison has spent the past week with the High-A Jupiter Hammerheads, collecting three hits and one RBI in 13 at-bats. He's working his way back from September surgery to repair a torn patella tendon in his right knee and is currently aiming to join the Marlins in early June. NL-only leaguers might want to stash him now. May 23
	2	Casey Kotchman D.L. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Casey Kotchman (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment "in the next few days." Kotchman is finally feeling improvement with his strained left hamstring. He was moved to the 60-day DL last week, though, so he won't be eligible to return until June. May 14
	3	Joe Mahoney D.L. Joe Mahoney (hamstring) is expected to begin playing in rehab games Sunday at Triple-A New Orleans. Mahoney was placed on the disabled list April 28 with a right hamstring strain. He'll beat Logan Morrison (knee) back to the Marlins' active roster but will probably be sent back to Triple-A when LoMo is deemed fully healthy. Mahoney, 26, carries no fantasy value. May 23
2B	1	Donovan Solano D.L. Donovan Solano's strained left intercostal muscle remains sore. There's no timetable for when he'll resume baseball activities, let alone when he'll return from the DL. Derek Dietrich will continue to serve as the primary second baseman for the Marlins. May 14
	2	Chris Valaika D.L. Chris Valaika underwent successful surgery on Friday, having two pins inserted into his wrist. Valaika is expected to require 4-6 weeks of healing time before he's able to return to the Marlins. He had been virtually ineffective in his 22 games before the injury, hitting .219/.261/.344 with one homer and nine RBI. May 10

"I’m just going off the results. He was hitting them out. It’s another encouraging sign that he’s a little closer to being back on the field." Stanton has been on the disabled list since April 30 and is still without a timetable. The best guess is that he's activated around mid-June. May 23

It's not clear when Eovaldi will be ready to throw from a mound, but he's moving in the right direction. 	3	Kevin Slowey Sidelined Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain. The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, so it's evidently a minor strain. He will be reevaluated on Thursday before it's determined whether he can make his next start. Slowey was pitching well Wednesday before getting hurt, tossing five innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while recording six strikeouts. May 22
