Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a home run in the Twins' 7-5 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Mauer hit a two-run homer in the first inning and later doubled off White Sox starter Dylan Axelrod, falling a triple short of the cycle. The two RBI gave him 23 on the season to go with a .327/.412/.492 line. And the homer was his seventh, giving him a fair chance to eclipse his total of 10 in 2012. If he finishes with his current slugging percentage it would actually be his third-highest all-time among full seasons.

Joe Mauer is not in the Twins' lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader.
It's standard procedure for catcher to start just one of two doubleheader games. Ryan Doumit is behind the dish for the first game, but Mauer will be back in for the second.

Joe Mauer hit his fourth homer, walked twice and scored three runs in the Twins' 6-3 win over the Brewers on Monday.
Mauer's homer off Tom Gorzelanny was just his second off a lefty the last three years. He's batting .393 with two homers, 12 doubles and 21 runs scored in 22 games this month. Unfortunately, that's only been good for eight RBI since the Twins have gotten so little from the leadoff spot.

Joe Mauer is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Braves.
He'll get a rest with the day game after the night game. The Twins are playing under National League rules in Turner Field, so the DH spot isn't available. Ryan Doumit will start behind the plate Wednesday.

Ramirez has been out since late May but is no longer experiencing concussion-related symptoms. He should rejoin the Twins before the end of the month.

Hicks is making progress with his strained left hamstring, but it's not clear when he'll be ready to play in games again. It might be a stretch to hope he can return before the end of the month.
