Diamondbacks signed OF Jeremy Reed to a minor league contract.
Reed last played Triple-A ball with for the Brewers and Twins in 2011, posting a .203/.280/.305 line with one homer and six RBI in 40 games. He'll serve as organizational depth for the D'Backs.

Twins acquired OF Jeremy Reed from the Brewers; assigned him to Triple-A Rochester.
Reed, 29, has batted just .233/.310/.350 in 118 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level and is unlikely to suddenly find success with the Twins. He will function as organizational outfield depth.

Brewers sent OF Jeremy Reed outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Reed was designated for assignment Monday when Jonathan Lucroy was activated from the disabled list. He had the right to declare free agency, but has accepted a minor league assignment.

Brewers designated OF Jeremy Reed for assignment.
Reed earned a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster with a strong showing at spring training, but it was never meant to last. The 29-year-old is likely to pass through waivers and wind up at Triple-A Nashville.

Aaron Hill was not cleared to resume activities Monday after a doctor determined that his left hand had not healed sufficiently.
"He's going to be waiting and try to get some more growth on that bone," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. Hill to this point has been limited to running and standing in on bullpen sessions to track pitches. It's unlikely that he'll be ready to return before June now.

Bloomquist has been playing games at extended spring training and hasn't had any recent setbacks. He should be ready for activation before the end of the month.

Adam Eaton (elbow) played five innings in center field for High-A Visalia on Friday.
It's the first time he's played the field during his rehab assignment, as he had been limited to DH duty. Eaton was scheduled to play the field again on Saturday before being re-evaluated by the Diamondbacks. He should be activated before the end of the month. Manager Kirk Gibson said he's "not really worried about" finding enough playing time for all the members of a deep group of outfielders. "If we have guys, we’ll find places for them to play," the manager added.

Daniel Hudson (elbow) gave up two runs on five hits over four innings in an extended spring training game on Friday.
It's the first time since last year's Tommy John surgery that Hudson has faced hitters wearing a different uniform. The D'Backs says the righty's fastball sat in the 91-93 mph range, which is obviously a good sign. "The light at the end of the tunnel is getting a little bit brighter now," Hudson said. Hudson will appear in another extended spring game next week and doesn't appear far off from a rehab assignment. He could be back as soon as late June if all goes well, though the big club doesn't currently have room for him in the rotation.

J.J. Putz will not require major elbow surgery.
Putz has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament, a strained flexor pronator and nerve irritation in his right elbow -- all of which can be addressed through rehab. He will try to return before the end of the 2013 season. Heath Bell has taken over Arizona's ninth-inning gig.
