The Mets characterized their interest in Scott Kazmir as ''tepid,'' according to ESPN's Adam Rubin.
The Mets were reportedly unimpressed with Kazmir and a reunion now seems unlikely. Earlier this week, Mets GM Sandy Alderson confirmed that the club planned on watching him throw, but expressed skepticism that he would be a part of their plans for 2012.

Mets' general manager Sandy Alderson has confirmed that the club will send someone to watch Scott Kazmir throw on Friday.
Alderson wrote via his Twitter account that the club has an "open mind" about Kazmir, but he also conceded that the southpaw would be a long shot to secure a spot on the major league roster right away. The 28-year-old is expected to decide on a team within the next few days.

Andy McCullough of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that the Mets are expected to have a scout watch Scott Kazmir throw on Friday.
Buster Olney of ESPN.com reported Wednesday morning that the Mets were one of six teams Kazmir was considering and that the left-hander could make a decision within the next few days. It's unlikely the 28-year-old has much left in the tank, but he could be worth a shot on a minor league deal.

Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Mets are among six teams in the mix to sign Scott Kazmir and that the left-hander could make a decision sometime in the next few days.
We heard late last week that the Mets didn't have interest in Kazmir "at this time," but that's apparently not the case. The 28-year-old southpaw averaged 86-89 mph and topped out at 91 mph while throwing for approximately 10 teams Friday in Houston. The former Mets' farmhand has a 5.54 ERA over 55 starts dating back to the 2009 season, so he'll almost certainly have to settle for a minor-league deal.

Iannetta had the pisiform bone removed from his wrist and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Bobby Wilson and John Hester will fill in behind the plate for now, though Hank Conger (elbow) could be an option in a couple weeks.

Langerhans will not need surgery but will still be out for an extended amount of time. The Halos have brought up Kole Calhoun for depth while Langerhans and Vernon Wells (thumb) are sidelined.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Wednesday that Torii Hunter will "likely" rejoin the team when they return home Monday or Tuesday.
Hunter was placed on the restricted list last week after his 17-year-old son, Darius McClinton-Hunter, was arrested in Texas on charges related to sexual assault. The family's lawyer previously said that the veteran outfielder doesn't plan to rejoin the team until his son's legal issues are resolved. Mark Trumbo will continue to start in right field during his absence.

It's a step in the right direction for Hawkins, who has missed the last three weeks. He'll be re-evaluated on Sunday. The veteran right-hander remains on track to return in the early part of June.

It's a procedural move in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Kole Calhoun. Kohn will miss all of 2012 while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
