Jason Frasor has tallied a 3.65 ERA through 17 appearances in his first season for the Rangers.
Signed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract in early January, Frasor has improved upon 2012's disappointing campaign for the Blue Jays, where he posted a rough 4.12 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 43-plus innings of relief. Frasor owns a 13/5 K/BB ratio and 1.29 WHIP through 12 1/3 frames.

Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News reports that the Rangers are nearing a one-year deal with Jason Frasor.
Frasor posted a 4.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 53/22 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings last season for the Blue Jays. He will function as a middle reliever in 2013 with Texas.

According to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM, the Brewers have interest in free agent Jason Frasor.
Appearing on Bowden's Sirius XM Radio show, GM Doug Melvin named Frasor, Mike Gonzalez, Jon Rauch and Kyle Farnsworth as relievers the Brewers are targeting in free agency. Frasor, 35, posted a 4.12 ERA in 50 appearances with the Blue Jays in 2012. He's likely to command a one-year deal this offseason.

Mitch Moreland (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Monday.
Moreland was cleared after running the bases on Sunday with no issues. He'll play at Frisco for three games before being activated on Friday, the first day he's eligible. The first baseman has been out since June 6 with a right hamstring strain.

Rangers placed OF Jeff Baker on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb.
The move is retroactive to June 13, so Baker will be allowed to return in less than 15 days if he's feeling well enough. He suffered the right thumb sprain last week while trying to give a high-five to a teammate.

Matt Harrison played catch Monday for the first time since his back surgery.
Good news, but Harrison will be restricted to flat ground work for another 4-6 weeks before getting back on a mound. Even then, he'll likely need another month to build up his workload. The southpaw isn't expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation until September, though he could provide a nice boost down the stretch.

Ogando still has some soreness in his right shoulder, and the Rangers aren't going to let him thrown from the mound until he's completely pain-free. He'll need to go out on a rehab assignment after throwing off a mound at least a couple times, so the right-hander isn't close to returning.

It's the first time he's done so since he was shut down after feeling soreness in the back of his right elbow. Lewis will likely need several more mound sessions before facing hitters, so he's not close to resuming his rehab assignment.

Soria has thrown multiple bullpen sessions and rounds of live batting practice this month, reporting no issues with his surgically-repaired elbow. He could join the Rangers' bullpen by the end of this month.
