Carlos Carrasco struck out eight batters and allowed one run in six innings of work against the Astros on Friday.
Carrasco's WHIP has been threatening to drop below 1.00 because of outings like this, which lowered it to 1.04. He only surrendered two hits, to go with two walks. The only damage on his line came in the form of a solo Marwin Gonzalez home run in the sixth inning. He left the game after throwing 90 pitches. The Indians will continue to stretch Carrasco. This marks Carrasco's third straight outing in the rotation. He has only allowed one run over those three starts. He has a 3.14 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 79/20 K/BB ratio this season. Unfortunately, Cody Allen allowed four runs in the ninth inning, depriving Carrasco of a deserved win. Carrasco will try to keep rolling against the White Sox next time out. Aug 22 - 10:32 PM
