Royals placed RHP Felipe Paulino on the 60-day disabled list with an elbow injury.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Paulino is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery and hopes to be ready to rejoin the Royals' rotation around midseason.

Felipe Paulino (elbow) threw off a mound for the first time Tuesday in spring training.
Paulino is only nine months removed from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and will open 2013 on the disabled list. The right-hander is hoping to rejoin the Royals' rotation around the All-Star break.

Jarrod Dyson has been diagnosed with a mild high ankle sprain and is expected to be sidelined for 2-to-4 weeks.
The 28-year-old speedster had been off to a decent start this season, hitting .268/.286/.561 with a homer, eight RBI and six stolen bases through his first 41 at-bats. While the timetable for recovery is short, any injury to the ankle is something to very closely monitor for a player such as Dyson who derives all of his fantasy value from his speed. David Lough could be worth a look in very deep leagues while Dyson is out.
