Bell had a rough 7.03 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 27/27 K/BB ratio in 48 2/3 innings last season in the Angels' farm system. The 26-year-old righty is probably a lost cause.

Tigers signed RHP Trevor Bell to a minor league contract.
Bell owns a career 5.21 ERA in the majors and put up an ugly 8.27 mark and 19/24 K/BB ratio over 10 starts for Triple-A Salt Lake with the Angels in 2012. He's around for minor league depth.

Bell gets the boot after posting a miserable 8.27 ERA and 19/24 K/BB ratio over 10 starts with Triple-A Salt Lake this year. The 25-year-old right-hander owns a 5.21 ERA in the majors. He'll attempt to latch on with a new organization.

Angels optioned RHP Trevor Bell to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bell had multiple stints with the Angels last season but was nothing more than a ''mop-up man.'' His future in Anaheim remains in question. The move trims the Opening Day roster down to 33 players.

Ryan Ludwick will throw on the field Friday for the first time since shoulder surgery in April.
That's a bit earlier than Ludwick previously estimated. However, he still thinks that he will not be ready to return for another two months. Most fantasy owners can afford to move on at this point.

Chris Heisey (hamstring) resumed a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday and went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored.
Heisey served as the designated hitter. The 28-year-old aggravated his hamstring injury during his first attempt at a rehab assignment last month, so the Reds figures to be extra cautious this time around. Still, a return before the end of the month appears realistic if he can avoid setbacks.

Reds placed RHP Jonathan Broxton on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 14, with a right elbow flexor strain.
Broxton has a 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 20/11 K/BB ratio through his first 27 innings this season, so it provides some context for his struggles. The Reds expect Broxton to return on June 29 when first eligible.

Marshall's shoulder is feeling good so far, but the left-hander thinks he's probably still at least three weeks away from a return. He's been out since mid-May with a shoulder issue that initially cropped up in spring training.

Masset had shoulder surgery last September and was shut down in April after experiencing a setback with his throwing program. While he's making progress, he has yet to throw from a mound. There's no clear timetable for his return.
