Emmanuel Burriss has elected free agency.
Burriss batted just .213/.270/.221 in 60 games for the Giants last season and declined a minor league assignment. He shouldn't have a problem securing a spring training invite on the open market.

Giants sent INF Emmanuel Burriss outright to Triple-A Fresno.
He'll have the option of electing free agency. Burriss batted only .213/.270/.221 in 60 games for the Giants this season.

Giants purchased the contract of INF Emmanuel Burriss from Triple-A Fresno.
Burriss was designated for assignment by the Giants in late July, but he cleared waivers and accepted a spot back at Fresno. Now he's being rewarded for his patience.

Ryan Ludwick will throw on the field Friday for the first time since shoulder surgery in April.
That's a bit earlier than Ludwick previously estimated. However, he still thinks that he will not be ready to return for another two months. Most fantasy owners can afford to move on at this point.

Chris Heisey (hamstring) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Heisey aggravated his right hamstring during a rehab assignment last month and still felt some soreness after sliding drills last Wednesday. He's feeling better now, though, and is ready to give it a go again. He should be activated before too long assuming he can avoid another setback.

Reds placed RHP Jonathan Broxton on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 14, with a right elbow flexor strain.
Broxton has a 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 20/11 K/BB ratio through his first 27 innings this season, so it provides some context for his struggles. The Reds expect Broxton to return on June 29 when first eligible.

Marshall's shoulder is feeling good so far, but the left-hander thinks he's probably still at least three weeks away from a return. He's been out since mid-May with a shoulder issue that initially cropped up in spring training.

Masset had shoulder surgery last September and was shut down in April after experiencing a setback with his throwing program. While he's making progress, he has yet to throw from a mound. There's no clear timetable for his return.
