Gerardo Parra hit a leadoff (but game-winning) home run against the Marlins on Saturday night.
Parra took Tom Koehler deep on the first pitch of the game, and it turned out to be all the scoring either team would do. The homer was Parra's only hit of the night, and he's now batting .327/.394/.506 on the year. The outfielder has often been the odd-man out in the Diamondbacks outfield -- Arizona expected Jason Kubel and Adam Eaton to be starting at this point -- but it's hard to see how the club will bench him when he's performing like this.

Gerardo Parra went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Thursday's win over the Phillies.
Parra drove in a run with a bunt in the bottom of the sixth inning, which ended up being the difference in the ballgame. The 26-year-old has hit safely in seven out of his last eight games and owns a quality .307/.377/.467 batting line on the year. He should continue to be relevant in most mixed leagues until Adam Eaton (elbow) is ready to return from the disabled list.

Gerardo Parra hit a three-run homer off Huston Street in the loss to the Padres on Friday.
Parra brought the Diamondbacks back to within a run in the ninth, but it wasn't quite enough. Expected to be the Diamondbacks' fourth outfielder again this year, Parra has played regularly with Adam Eaton out and hit .298 with 19 runs scored in 28 games. He's plenty good enough to remain a starter against right-handers the rest of the way, but the Diamondbacks could shove him back into a reserve role when everyone is healthy.

Gerardo Parra went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Rockies.
Parra has now hit safely in four straight games. While the 25-year-old outfielder has slowed down considerably from his red-hot start, he should continue to be relevant in deeper mixed leagues while Jason Kubel (quad) and Adam Eaton (elbow) are sidelined.

Aaron Hill was not cleared to resume activities Monday after a doctor determined that his left hand had not healed sufficiently.
"He's going to be waiting and try to get some more growth on that bone," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. Hill to this point has been limited to running and standing in on bullpen sessions to track pitches. It's unlikely that he'll be ready to return before June now.

Adam Eaton (elbow) played five innings in center field for High-A Visalia on Friday.
It's the first time he's played the field during his rehab assignment, as he had been limited to DH duty. Eaton was scheduled to play the field again on Saturday before being re-evaluated by the Diamondbacks. He should be activated before the end of the month. Manager Kirk Gibson said he's "not really worried about" finding enough playing time for all the members of a deep group of outfielders. "If we have guys, we’ll find places for them to play," the manager added.

Daniel Hudson (elbow) gave up two runs on five hits over four innings in an extended spring training game on Friday.
It's the first time since last year's Tommy John surgery that Hudson has faced hitters wearing a different uniform. The D'Backs says the righty's fastball sat in the 91-93 mph range, which is obviously a good sign. "The light at the end of the tunnel is getting a little bit brighter now," Hudson said. Hudson will appear in another extended spring game next week and doesn't appear far off from a rehab assignment. He could be back as soon as late June if all goes well, though the big club doesn't currently have room for him in the rotation.

Putz has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament, a strained flexor pronator and nerve irritation in his right elbow -- all of which can be addressed through rehab. He will try to return before the end of the 2013 season. Heath Bell has taken over Arizona's ninth-inning gig.
