According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, the Mets have discussed demoting Ike Davis, Ruben Tejada, and Jordany Valdespin.
Davis doesn't come as a big surprise given his miserable slump, but Tejada has also been a major disappointment while Valdespin hasn't produced enough to be worth the distraction his presence causes on the roster. The Mets still see Davis and Tejada as potential long-term pieces, so any decision will be made with careful consideration about their development.

Ruben Tejada delivered a go-ahead RBI single in a 7-5 win over the Braves in 10 innings on Friday.
The single drove in Jordany Valdespin, who reached on a two-out walk and stole second base to get into scoring position. Tejada is hitting .333 (12-for-36) over his last nine games and has begun to get more looks out of the leadoff spot. Unfortunately, he doesn't offer enough pop or speed to be all that useful in mixed fantasy leagues.

Ruben Tejada will bat leadoff for the first time this season Tuesday against the Dodgers.
There's a chance this could become a regular occurrence against left-handed pitching. Collin Cowgill has batted leadoff against some southpaws this season, but he's hitting eighth Tuesday.

Ruben Tejada is not in Saturday's lineup against the Nationals.
Tejada suffered an ankle/foot injury in Friday's game and should be considered day-to-day. Justin Turner is playing shortstop and leading off in his absence.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Francisco was diagnosed with a mild strain of the flexor pronator in his right elbow last week, but he's already back at it. However, it's not clear if he's throwing from a mound or simply playing catch or long-tossing. Either way, he's not close to rejoining the Mets' bullpen.

Collin McHugh was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the vacant bullpen spot. Atchison has been shut down for a week and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. It's not clear when he might return.
