David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News writes that the "sense" before Thursday's game is that Ben Revere "will be a night-by-night proposition for the foreseeable future."
Revere is nursing a swollen right ring finger, but the feeling is that he probably would have played through it Thursday had he been performing at the plate. The outfielder is batting .204 with a .471 OPS that ranks dead last among qualified NL hitters. Revere entered the season as a respectable .278 hitter, and more balls will surely start falling in for him eventually. For now, though, expect to see plenty of John Mayberry in center field.

Ben Revere is out of the Phillies' starting lineup Thursday because of a swollen right ring finger.
Revere jammed the finger Wednesday while diving into the second base bag. He is currently considered day-to-day.

Ben Revere was hitless in three at-bats in his return to the lineup Tuesday.
Revere has been dealing with a strained right quadriceps for the last week, and the Phillies were also holding him out due to his struggles at the plate. He's now batting just .200/.234/.222 for the season and could see his playing time start to dwindle if he doesn't pick it up.

Revere has missed the last two games with a sore quad, and it's still possible that he'll be rested through the weekend. The Phillies are platooning John Mayberry and Ezequiel Carrera in his absence.

Roy Halladay had surgery on Wednesday to remove a bone spur in his shoulder and repair his torn rotator cuff.
Halladay is hoping to resume throwing in 6-8 weeks and will try to make it back before the end of the 2013 season. The veteran righty had an 8.65 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 35/17 K/BB ratio over his first 34 1/3 innings this season. He can be dropped in all non-keeper leagues.

John Lannan (quad) threw a bullpen session on Saturday afternoon in Clearwater, Florida.
Lannan will throw off a mound again on Monday and should then progress to simulated games. If all goes well, he will join the Phillies at some point in early June. He's been on the disabled list since April 18 with a quad strain.

Adams hasn't made much progress over the past week, but he's still hoping to avoid a stint on the disabled list. The Phillies could make a move if he can't pitch at some point this weekend.
