Tyler Flowers hit a three-run homer off Justin Grimm in the sixth inning to give the White Sox all of their runs in Thursday's win over the Rangers.
Flowers is hitting just .186, but at least four of his 13 hits have been homers. Really, it's pretty close to what should have been expected from him. Maybe he'll end up batting .220 or so, but he'll only be useful in the power categories.

Tyler Flowers went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
It was Flowers' third home run of the season but his first since April 3, and he only had three hits since that time. Some had pegged the 27-year-old as a sleeper candidate this season, but after Wednesday's game he's still hitting just .195. There's some power potential there, though, and he'll get the lion's share of the starts behind the dish for the Sox, so there's some upside. But it's best left for AL-only leagues for now.

Tyler Flowers went 2-for-3 and homered in a second straight game Wednesday versus the Royals.
Flowers took Ervin Santana deep today. On Monday, he homered off James Shields for the only run in the White Sox's 1-0 win. We don't expect Flowers to hit for average, but it wouldn't be a total shock if he leads AL catchers in homers this year.

Tyler Flowers homered for the game's only run in the White Sox's win over the Royals on Monday.
It's Flowers' power that's earned him a shot as a starter, but he went 44 at-bats without a homer this spring after hitting one in his very first game on Feb. 23. Ideally, he'll give the White Sox about 20 bombs from the catcher spot this year. He's not going to hit for average, though.

Gordon Beckham (hand) tallied three hits Sunday in his second rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.
Beckham went 2-for-4 on Saturday in his rehab debut and is looking ready to rejoin the White Sox. But since he's been out so long -- over five weeks -- the second baseman will likely remain on the farm until Friday.

Sanchez was placed on the disabled list back on April 14 with a lower back strain and is finally feeling significant improvement. He figures to need quite a few rehab games before being activated.

John Danks (shoulder) went 4 2/3 innings Saturday in his third minor league rehab start.
If everything checks out with the left-hander early this week, he should be cleared to join the White Sox starting rotation on Friday night against the Marlins. Danks has been on the shelf all year and makes for a decent waiver stash right now in AL-only fantasy leagues. Since he's coming off shoulder surgery and still rebuilding his arm strength, it might not be wise to trust him right out of the gate in standard mixed formats. Even against Miami.

Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.

White Sox transferred LHP Leyson Septimo from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Septimo has been out all season with a left shoulder strain. He's begun a rehab assignment but now will not be eligible to return until May 22.
