Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated that Ivan Nova (triceps, side) is slated to pitch Monday in Tampa.

Nova, currently sidelined with triceps inflammation, experienced discomfort in his upper back while playing catch over the weekend. However, it apparently wasn't a major setback. The assumption is that he'll pitch in extended spring training on Monday, though there's nothing official on that yet. David Phelps will continue to fill his spot in the rotation for now. "I'm looking at the end of May, sometime around the 30th or 31st maybe, to get back out there playing with the Yankees. I'm feeling great." Teixeira has been taking batting practice in the cages but still needs to take live BP on the field. "I would say the next step would be some live BP; we're not there yet," manager Joe Girardi said. "Then maybe some sim games, hopefully, then some rehab games. That's the progression, but we're still in the BP phase." May 15
