According to Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle, the Cubs talked to the Astros earlier this offseason about a trade for catcher Jason Castro.
That was before the Cubs landed Miguel Montero from the Diamondbacks. They're all set now. Castro declined a contract extension last winter and can become a free agent two years from now, so it makes sense that the Astros would be listening to offers.
