Aroldis Chapman blew his second straight save chance Sunday in the Reds' loss to the Phillies.
Chapman entered with the Reds leading 2-1 and then gave up back-to-back solo homers to Erik Kratz and Freddy Galvis. The hard-throwing lefty hasn't enjoyed the cleanest May but is obviously still the Cincinnati closer. He'll try to bounce back in the next opportunity that he gets.

Aroldis Chapman rebounded nicely from his rough Friday outing, pitching a scoreless ninth inning against the Cubs on Saturday to earn his seventh save of the season.
Chapman walked a batter and failed to record a strikeout, but it was a clean frame. He now holds a 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 22/6 K/BB ratio through 15 innings this season. The fireballing lefty is a truly elite fantasy option.

Reds manager Dusty Baker said Aroldis Chapman is available Saturday.
Chapman allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning and was pulled from Friday's game, but he'll be available on back-to-back days if there's a save situation. He had allowed just one run, five hits and three walks in 14 innings to open the season.

After entering a 6-2 game against the Cubs in the ninth, Aroldis Chapman allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning and was pulled Friday.
J.J. Hoover relieved him with the bases loaded and struck out Darwin Barney to end the game and pick up the save. Chapman allowed four hits -- all of which were singles -- and walked two before coming out of the non-save situation. Maybe it was that four-run lead that threw him off. Prior to today, he had allowed just one run, five hits and three walks in 13 1/3 innings.

It's merely a procedural move. Ludwick has been ruled out until early July with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The Reds have determined that Chris Heisey's hamstring aggravation was not severe.
"It wasn’t horrendous," assistant general manager Bob Miller said. "He tweaked it." Heisey won't return until the next homestand, which runs from May 24-28, at the earliest. It's certainly possible his absence could stretch into June.

Manny Parra (pectoral) struck out two in a scoreless inning Monday in his first rehab appearance with Double-A Pensacola.
No word on the timeline for his return, but he'll likely make at least one more appearance before being activated. Parra has an 8.10 ERA and 7/3 K/BB ratio over 6 2/3 innings prior to going down with a strained left pectoral muscle at the end of April.

Reds transferred RHP Nick Masset from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
Masset is still recovering from right shoulder surgery, and he was recently shut down after suffering a setback. The right-hander hasn't pitched since 2011.
