Dillon Gee was shelled for six runs -- five earned -- over four innings Tuesday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Gee was shaky out of the gate, yielding three runs in the first inning and another three in the third against the dangerous St. Louis offense. He is now 2-5 with a 6.13 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 39 2/3 innings this season. Nothing is going right for the Mets at the moment.

Dillon Gee won Wednesday despite allowing four runs in five innings against the Marlins.
Gee struck out just one and allowed nine hits to one of the weakest major league lineups you'll ever see, and his ERA rose to 6.16. It seemed unlikely that his shoulder surgery for a blood clot last year would cause any long-term problems, but he's struggled since the start of the spring. He's become droppable in NL-only leagues.

Dillon Gee gave up four runs in six innings Friday in a loss to the Phillies.
Gee held the Phillies off the board for the first five innings, but he unraveled in the sixth by giving up four straight hits, the big blow of which was a three-run homer by Ryan Howard. He walked one and struck out four in the loss and now holds a 5.96 ERA through his first five starts. Fortunately, he should have a good chance to rebound when he faces the light-hitting Marlins next Wednesday.

Dillon Gee tossed 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball as the Mets defeated the Nationals 2-0 on Sunday.
Gee struck out six and allowed only three hits against a dangerous Washington lineup to earn his first win of 2013. The 26-year-old right-hander got off to a rough start this season but has the talent to settle into a nice groove. He will take on the Phillies next time out.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

The move cleared a spot on the Mets' 40-man roster for Aaron Laffey. Santana (shoulder) won't pitch this season.

Francisco was diagnosed with a mild strain of the flexor pronator in his right elbow last week, but he's already back at it. However, it's not clear if he's throwing from a mound or simply playing catch or long-tossing. Either way, he's not close to rejoining the Mets' bullpen.

Collin McHugh was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the vacant bullpen spot. Atchison has been shut down for a week and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. It's not clear when he might return.
