Hisashi Iwakuma allowed five earned runs over six innings Monday in the Mariners' loss to the Indians.
Iwakuma entered the outing with an outstanding 1.84 ERA and 0.78 WHIP. By the time he was done serving up seven hits, three walks and five earned runs to the Tribe, his ERA had jumped to 2.37 and his WHIP had slid to 0.87. Iwakuma will try to bounce back next week against the Rangers. It will be a tough test for the right-hander.

Hisashi Iwakuma allowed two runs in seven innings against the Yankees to pick up his fifth win of the season on Wednesday.
Iwakuma has yet to allow more than three runs in a single start this season, and Wednesday was a standard outing for the right-hander. Iwakuma surrendered just two solo home runs to the Yanks, striking out four while walking none. He now owns a 1.84 ERA and 0.78 WHIP through nine starts, and he should be started in even the shallowest of mixed leagues as his impressive run continues. His next turn will come Monday against the Indians.

Hisashi Iwakuma allowed two runs over seven innings and struck out nine Friday in the Mariners' 6-3 win over the A's.
In eight starts, Iwakuma has allowed zero earned runs twice, one earned run three times, two earned runs twice and three earned runs once. He can't keep up this pace, but he's on the short list of AL Cy Young contenders through six weeks.

Hisashi Iwakuma cruised to an easy victory against the Blue Jays on Saturday, surrendering just one run on five hits over his seven innings of work.
Iwakuma walked three and struck out five, and he got great support from the Seattle offense. Iwakuma has been tremendous through his first seven starts this season, boasting a 3-1 record, 1.61 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 42/8 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings. He'll look to continue that dominance when he faces the A's at home on Saturday.

If everything goes smoothly, the center fielder should be back with Seattle early next week. He has been on the disabled list since April 23 with a hamstring strain.

Felix Hernandez wasn't sharp Sunday, allowing six runs -- five earned -- over just five innings in a loss to the Indians.
King Felix recorded eight strikeouts, but he allowed eight hits and walked a pair. The Mariners' ace left his last outing with a back issue, so it's possible it was an issue for him again today. As long as he's healthy, Hernandez is obviously a good bet to bounce back against the Rangers his next time out.

Aaron Harang was lit up for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Angels on Tuesday.
Josh Hamilton and Howie Kendrick homered off him. Harang fell to 1-5 with an 8.58 ERA. The Mariners need to make a switch here, whether it's Jeremy Bonderman, Hector Noesi or James Paxton as the replacement. Erasmo Ramirez still isn't healthy, unfortunately.

Mariners transferred RHP Stephen Pryor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Pryor now won't be eligible to return until mid-June, but he wasn't going to be ready before then, anyway. The hard-thrower recently resumed his throwing program but has yet to test things out from a mound.

Kinney has been on the shelf all season because of a stress reaction in his left shoulder and rib cage. He's likely to spend around two weeks in the minor leagues.
