White Sox recalled RHP Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte.
Omogrosso, 29, had a 6.52 ERA and 9/2 K/BB ratio in 9 2/3 innings over his first seven appearances this season in Triple-A. Donnie Veal was sent down in a corresponding roster move, which leaves Matt Thornton as the lone left-hander in Chicago's bullpen.

The 28-year-old did not allow an earned run in 12 1/3 innings this spring in the Cactus League. He should be brought up to the Chicago bullpen at some point in 2013.

White Sox recalled RHP Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte.
Omogrosso appeared in five games with the White Sox earlier this season and is returning to a 4.26 ERA. He'll be used as a low-leverage reliever, but posted an impressive 51/12 K/BB ratio in the minors.

Omogrosso appeared in five games as a middle reliever with the White Sox, and will return to a 4.09 ERA over 33 innings in the minors. Jesse Crain is being activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.

Gordon Beckham (hand) started at shortstop Monday in his third rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.
Beckham played shortstop in college and as a prospect, but he has never done so in the majors. Of course, Alexei Ramirez is in the second year of a four-year, $32.5 million contract, so there would have to be an injury or a trade for him to get a look there with the big club. Still, it's an interesting development. Beckham is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with one double and two RBI over three rehab games and should be activated this weekend.

Sanchez was placed on the disabled list back on April 14 with a lower back strain and is finally feeling significant improvement. He figures to need quite a few rehab games before being activated.

Chris Sale has been scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start against the Red Sox due to mild tendinitis in his left posterior shoulder.
It's obviously a tough break for Sale's fantasy owners, but the good news is that the move is viewed as precautionary and he's expected to be ready to start next Tuesday. Hector Santiago will get the ball Wednesday in Sale's place. He'll be pitching on three days' rest.

John Danks (shoulder) went 4 2/3 innings Saturday in his third minor league rehab start.
If everything checks out with the left-hander early this week, he should be cleared to join the White Sox starting rotation on Friday night against the Marlins. Danks has been on the shelf all year and makes for a decent waiver stash right now in AL-only fantasy leagues. Since he's coming off shoulder surgery and still rebuilding his arm strength, it might not be wise to trust him right out of the gate in standard mixed formats. Even against Miami.

Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.

White Sox transferred LHP Leyson Septimo from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Septimo has been out all season with a left shoulder strain. He's begun a rehab assignment but now will not be eligible to return until May 22.
