Christian Yelich chipped in with two hits Saturday in the United States' loss to the Dominican Republic in the WBC.
He and Brandon Crawford were the only Americans with more than one hit. Yelich’s third-inning double off Edinson Volquez plated Adam Jones from third base and gave the U.S. a 2-0 lead. Yelich has gotten off to a blistering start in the WBC, connecting on three hits over his first five at-bats. Despite Saturday’s loss, the U.S. can still earn a spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Canada on Sunday. Mar 11 - 11:21 PM
