George Springer (quad) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Springer came down with minor discomfort in his left quad on Monday. He sat on Tuesday and will sit again on Wednesday as the Astros look to give him a little recovery space. Derek Fisher is manning center in his place and hitting second, while Jose Altuve is batting in Springer's typical leadoff spot. Daily Slant: The Astros are the top offense in baseball against right-handed pitching, but this isn't a night where stacking them up seems viable. Not only are they missing a few of their most potent bats, but they'll lose the DH in an NL park against one of the hottest pitchers in the league. Aaron Nola has racked up a 27.4 K% at home with a 50.4 GB% and 23.2 soft%, and his dominance against right-handed bats bodes well for his chances of setting down Altuve and Gurriel. Jul 26 - 4:05 PM
